I’ve scoured different posts on this topic on this forum and others and I’m still running into issues. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I installed a 3rd brake light from extreme terrain. (Basically a trailer light).
The factory 3rd brake light is gone, no harness to tie into. I’m running wires directly from the brake light, through the tailgate and tub and trying to tie them into the factory tail lamp wiring under the passenger side. I’ve read the FSM wiring diagram, to no success.
When tied into the preexisting black and white/tan wires (the ones that plug into the connectors on the tub) and with the tailgate open, the brake lights on the tail lamps and 3rd brake light comes on. When closed, only the tail lamps work and the 3rd brake light shuts off. I’ve triple checked and there’s no binding.
What am i overlooking? Where am I grounding out?
