Is there some trick I'm missing or does anyone have a tip for me? I bend the arm back, pulled down the little clip and wiggled the heck out of that stupid arm. I just can't get the friggin thing off. It needs to be rotated like two clicks clockwise to be straight and it's making me crazy!!

Unrelated but additional question cuz you all are so awesome and helpful. What can I use to keep these in place? There's foam on the edges so I'm not sure silicone is the right solution. But they don't stay put. Suggestions? Are they not the right away for my TJ?

No thats pretty much it, bend the arm, pull the tab (maybe try prying it more/further) and it should just pop right off. There's no other trick to releasing it unless its corroded on. I would say just make sure the little tab is out all the way, if its not it will not come off.

As for those hardtop vents, I do not believe they are supposed to have foam on them at all. Mine don't and the sit flush against the hardtop and wiggle a little but do not want to come out either...I'de say try removing the foam and see what happens, maybe they can be pushed in further and click-lock into place better.

I used some black RTV that I carefully squeezed behind those flanges on the vents, it helped hold them in and limit any chance of water coming in that way. It was a bit of a pain to do without making a huge mess.

Mine didn't have any foam behind them.

My rear wiper arm is held on with a nut. Remove the center cap located on the end of the arm where the shaft connects. Think it's a 1/2 or 13mm nut. '06 hardtop.
Some black silicone while hold those vents.

I know there is a nut on mine but i don't think there's a cap. I'll have to go look again LOL I'll get a picture

Nope, not on mine... I brought it in for service on a squeak (hopefully just the serpentine) and I asked them to try the arm for me.

That is the same as the front window wipers. At 20 plus years old I'm betting it is just "bonded" into place... likely never been removed before. A lot of wriggling should remove it.

The funny thing is, it was missing when I signed the papers. When I picked her up they had pooped one on, so it hasn't been on long, but it may be the wrong one. My guys got it off and fixed it for me :)

If you haven't gotten it yet. Take a look here and it might be a little easier to understand what you need to do.

First you can squirt a little liquid wrench or similar with the little sprayer tube right on back side to help it some even though you stated they just put it on. But if it was corroded/rusty and little then it's sorta like cross threading a brand new nut. Won't move easily.

Now here should be what your seeing. your arm with lever pushed in meaning locked.

Little flat piece on bottom that has curled up edge. Reach up with finger or use flat screw driver and pull it down like this.

Now it's unlocked. These 2 pics shows locked on top and unlocked bottom and show you what your working with but can't see yet. See how it just slides in to groove on arm to prevent arm from coming off.

Of course yours is still on so now unlock yours by pulling it down.

Next grab you a flat screwdriver and hold it in a fist with like your knuckles against the glass and put tip edge only maybe a 1/16" under edge. Just giving you some leverage to pry it up easier and grab arm on left side same way fist like. Now just even pressure with a little wiggling side to side to pull it off. Screwdriver helps with holding it level so it doesn't bind on shaft trying to come off. And this will be what you should.

Remember to set the clock position of blade before you snap it back on, meaning where you want to blade to stop at when it is off. Oh and put some lube on it before reinstalling it. Hope this helps, but even of you already got it off just say it helped. That way the typing and pics will have seemed useful. :ROFLMAO:

Hello,

When I bough my Jeep, the rear wiper assembly was in a box because it wasn't working. Winter is coming here so I just received my rear wiper motor.
I am missing the rubber grommet but from that picture, it seems that I am missing 2 of them. Either way, the dealer doesn't sell them anymore.
I did a bit of research and it seems that I can't locate that part anywhere from different vendors.

Any idea of where I could get these or know if the
Mopar 68002492AA Rear Wiper Motor Mounting Hardware from a JK
could be used?

Any help is appreciated! :)

Did you ever get a response to your question? (I have the same issue) TIA.
