This is probably a dumb question, but I'm going to ask it anyway.

Could an improperly adjusted adjustable front trackbar cause a Jeep to sit higher on the drivers side than the passenger side?

Thanks

Bob

No, that wouldn't cause it.

I'm at a loss then. I originally installed a Rock Krawler 2" lift kit (coils and shocks) along with adjustable control arms and trackbars. The Jeep sat over 1" high on the drivers side. I pulled the coils only to find that they were different heights and that I had been sent a bad batch. After receiving the replacements (same height) I reinstalled, only to find that while it wasn't as bad, the Jeep still sat 3/4 inch higher on the drivers side.

I can tell you that after a body lift (and prior to the suspension lift) the fronts were the same height and rears were the same height (both sides). After the lift, not so much.....

I'm struggling to find a solution.

Welcome to my world. JKs all have this thing where they sit about 3/4" higher on the passenger side. It's a known thing, and mine does it as well.

It sure is weird, but it's far from just me who has the problem.

Sounds like maybe you got another set of bad coils to me.

UGH!!!

In total frustration, I finally took it to a Jeep shop on Friday. That is what they suggested before they did anything to it. I gave them the go ahead to pull the Rock Krawlers and install a new set of 2" lift coils to see if the issue went away.

I hated taking it to a shop, but I was totally out of ideas and wasn't crazy about installing coils for a third time.....

I don’t have any firsthand experience with Rock Krawler, but just like most manufacturers, they obviously have someone else build the springs for them.

Makes me wonder if the manufacturer is putting out a bunch of bad ones and just doesn’t realize it yet.

In the first case, I was clearly sent a spring that was either not RK or for a different sized lift (see pic below) the two on the left are the replacements for the originals (two on the right)

If the two on the left (installed on the Jeep now) end up being the problem, I am going to be very pissed.

I have the RK 3.5" springs in the front of mine and it sits level. Are the coil isolators installed on both the pass and driver sides?

You could also swap the springs side to side and see what happens. If the lean moves, you know it's the springs. If it doesn't, you know it's something with the Jeep itself.

Isolators are present on both sides. I was reluctant to go to all the trouble of removing them and switching them around, only to find that the problem moved and that I had to remove them one more time. Instead i chose to have the shop replace them with new coils. If the problem remains, then it will take a lot more investigation.

The two on the left look identical to me, so that's odd that it could be sitting higher on one side. Have you checked the rear springs by chance?

I actually pulled the two rear springs and switched sides prior to paying attention to the fronts. The problem didn't move and the rear front and rear are still higher. The front far more than the rear.

But do the two rear springs look identical and not different like those two front ones in the photo above?

Without pulling them off at the same time and taking a pic, I was unable to see any difference in them when I removed them.

I should note that both the rear ones had a part number sticker on them. Only the shorter one in the front had a sticker, the taller one did not.

Chris the springs on a JK are supposed to be heavier on the passenger side because of the gas tank from what I have read. The part numbers for the spring locations all show the heavier springs on the right. Oh well...

I wasn’t aware of this. Perhaps that’s the issue then!

Do you have any pictures of the vehicle at ride height with the springs on it?

So when the tank is empty or close to it the jeep leans the other way because a driver is in the seat? o_O
