Installing new water pump / inlet tube.

Inlet tube came with thread sealer already on. It’s causing it to not easily turn into the pump. Can I spray something on threads to help turn it without detracting from the integrity of the thread sealer?

I just went thru this nightmare with the Dorman 56398. The only solution is to use a wire wheel to get the paint off of the threads. The threads look too fine, but when the paint is removed, it matches up. after the paint is removed from the threads, you have to use thread sealant to replace the sealant that was removed. Once the pipe is installed in the pump and back on the engine, the pipe has to be bent to fit around the valve cover and line up with the hose.

Damn you Dorman!

Thanks for the tip. I’ll be redoing my cooling system soon and was going to replace my pipe with the Dorman pipe.
