Fuel tank swap

Check the fuel pump fuse under the hood. If the fuse is fine, test the connector with a test light or multimeter. There should be power to the pump for a few seconds when turning the key to the on position.
Would putting power direct to the fuel pump, to verify operation, cause any problems? I've done similar things using a 12V motorcycle battery to test starters, etc.

Update. The fuel pump in the 05 tank didn’t work so now I’m looking at options to repair my 03 tank. The plastic spout that the filler hose connects to is crushed. Previous owner probably crimped a metal hose clamp too tight. See pics below.
could I put any kind of pipe in it then seal around it with rtv gasket maker?

New 05-06 pumps are $180 or so. Just FYI. Regardless, I'm sure you can sell that tank for a pretty penny since those year tanks are hot for LS swaps.

To repair, you can use nylon tubing of the correct size and use a plastic epoxy to seal it. Clean thoroughly with brake cleaner and acetone and sand with a course 80 grit to give both surfaces a good tooth for the epoxy.

Got the old tank in with a new fuel pump. It’s running great with no check engine light! Anyone know what size torx screws hold the filler assembly to the body?
