I am planning to remove the transmission/transfer case skid plate to inspect the rubber transmission mount.
Since the I am not sure what I will find; I am planning to have a replacement on hand.

The OEM Mopar part: 52058551AB is expensive at >$125.

My prior experience with aftermarket parts tells me to purchase the OEM transmission mount.

Just wondering what other members experiences are with aftermarket manufacturers of transmission mounts...

I went with the El Cheapo option from Rock Auto (Westar EM2882). It was $16 after shipping. It's only been in there a couple months and, so far so good.

For what it's worth, my original mount was is pretty rough shape. I was expecting to notice an improvement with a new mount installed. No real noticeable difference on the street...

More than likely the manufacturer of the El Cheapo mount that you used is different than the ones I used years ago, but my experience then was.... You get what you pay for....
I installed one years ago from the local auto parts store and due to the type of driving I did off road; the mount only lasted a short time. I replaced my El Cheapo with a OEM mount and it lasted for more more than 15 years when I sold the Jeep. Another time a Jeep friend needed help replacing his mount and had purchased one from the local auto parts store. A year later I was over to help him again, but this time we installed an OEM mount.

I can't remember which brand I used $50-ish. I first had a cheapo poly bushing to replace the original severely degraded one and picked up a pretty good vibration. Full time vibe. If the engine was running the Jeep was vibrating. I had figured this would happen, but wanted it changed right away. So then I went with the $50 one a few months later, the next time I had the skid pulled. I should have done the engine mounts too, but haven't gotten there yet. There have been several posts that sum it up to either spend the cash for the factory mount or expect vibration whether using polly or rubber. I'm happy with the rubber I used, could be because that polly one was so buzzy. I see Amazon has some that come all 3 for 1 low price and would avoid those. Often the difference between 'rubber' and 'polyurethane' is small.

There is certainly merit to your perspective, and I won't be surprised if El Cheapo doesn't last. I only need 1 year of service out of the cheap mount. Planning a new crossmember/ mount next winter when I tummy tuck.

I would be interested to see the new cross member you build... Please post a few pictures.

Moat of the feedback on here is the poly mounts cause vibes and the recommendation is to go with the rubber Mopar. I'm sure if you searched, several threads will pop up regarding it.

Edit: I would suspect most rubber mounts would work.

Thanks,,,,
Yeah I did searching on this Forum and others....
The consensus is the Mopar mounts, but I figured I would ask anyways.
A forum member may have a better manufacturer.

The more rubber the better the vibration isolation. OEM seems to work very well.

I used a cheapie the first time around and it was only in there long enough while waiting for the OEM mount, vibrations transmitted by the so called oem rubber style were unacceptable.
