When I bought my Wrangler a couple of years ago it came with a brand new extended top in the box. I just opened it the other day and also bought the header bar that it says to get. I got it all installed but the only thing I cannot figure out is what to do with the little crease behind the header above the doors with the Velcro. It totally doesn't seem to make sense.

Just tuck that odd shaped section down into the front nook area and after pulling the velcro tab apart into its two hook and loop halves. tightly wrap the velcro strap around the rollbar.

not sure if this helps.. the outside strap wraps inward and collects to the other strap as you wrap it inward the vehicle.. that baggy kite kinda folds in on itself as you connect the Velcro

Thanks, I did it that way, doesn't look real good but I guess it's better.

I bought a very similar bikini top and the header a couple years ago. I agree that it doesn't look real good.

Thanks for the pic. I guess that's as good as it gets.

In fact I thought it looked so bad, compared to the ragged used one that came on my CJ5 that I never put it on a second time.

I just pull the doors and all the Bestop windows off and wish I never spent that $100 bill.

I wrap the door surround only, not the sport bar. It does not effect the closing of the door and looks much neater.

Is it a Bestop? It looks like my Bestop Safari Top.

There's 2 ways to install the sides.

With door surrounds on, plastic tabs get snapped in the surrounds just like the regular soft top, the front Velcro straps get wrapped around the door surround, all the extra flap gets tucked away above the roll bar.

Without door surrounds, the flap wraps around the roll bar and gets Velcro-ed down, the two small Velcro strips get attached together and get tucked away.

Bestop Instructions

Mine is a smittybilt, it came with the Jeep, I have had it in an unopened box for 2 years. I think I have it as best as it is going to be. I just need to do something about the straps that flap around and figure out a way to keep the very back from flapping so much. I do have it nice and tight.

Probably works about the same by the looks of it. 👍
