Body bushings question

HUGE step in my TJ frame replacement project... Body is back on the frame!

I decided to replace the OEM body bushings with Prothane bushings... But I'm a bit confused on how they go in / the hardware situation. Fortunately all the bolts are in good shape so no problem there.

I figured out the six bushings in the mid-section - re-used the previous retainer hardware, and they just dropped right in. Those are done.

The rear bushings are confusing though... the stock ones look different than the prothane, and there's no retainers that I can see. Looking online, it appears that you can buy rear retainers which are similar but a different part number than the front ones... And yet the parts manual only shows one retainer part number for all 11 bushings.

What's the deal here? Are there supposed to be retainers on ALL the body bushings? What hardware am I missing? Does anyone have pics of the stock body mounts in the rear?

I would use rubber replacement parts for that. Poly bushings and/or mounts are very hard and will tend to squeak instead of flex like they are supposed to. And they get noisier as they age.

Well I'm a dunce... found the stock bushing upper halves and their metal retainers still on the old frame. They were there all along. Cleaned them up and reused them, good as new.

I always hear you should use oem (rubber) mounts with aluminum spacers.
However, I got a good deal on a Daystar +1" poly set. That was eight years ago. No squeaks, no loose mounting bolts, no issues of any kind (yet).
Maybe next time.
