Hello,
I got a guy from San Diego trying to tell me that this is a set of Rubicon flares for sale. These are almost impossible to get these days, even new. But I thought they were 4.25 inches wide at the dimension shown. Am I missing something?
Thanks!

I found some black Sahara flares on eBay, but just the rears. So I'm halfway there. The reason I want them is that my daughter is taking this jeep to Pennsylvania in the Fall to resume her studies. This jeep has JL wheels and tires that stick out one inch more than the standard flares and I don't want to deal with failed inspection or tickets. I've got two months to find the fronts so I will keep looking. ..

I’m not to familiar on how states are with laws like that, don’t seem to have a problem in NV. I can understand your reasoning tho. I did purely because I think they look better. Like you said you are half way there! That is good news!

Because I’m still on furlough for a while I will keep an eye out on my area for you. I’m sure shipping will be a bitch but if I find some I’ll let you know.

I've tried ordering from at least 5 online places. I don't remember if this is one of them, but all take my money, wait a few days, then tell me it's out of stock and refund.

I shipped a set to someone. If you REALLY pack them, you're looking at about $50 a box to ship in two boxes. I ha to measure and cut two separate TV boxes to keep the price down. I doubt most sellers would put in that kind of work.

So do you have any more?
No but I keep my eyes open for them. There were several sets in the Phoenix area awhile back for $100-150. Haven’t seen any as of late. I bet if you put a feeler on local FB marketplace or CL there are probably plenty of people with takeoffs stuffed away in their garages.

PA is tougher on a lot of vehicles for a lot of reasons. I'm glad I'm just on the Ohio side of the line.

I will say this though, my daughter spent 7 months doing an internship in North Carolina and she hasn't had any issues with the law and her vehicle. Her plates are still from Ohio and they don't seem to care. She also will be spending somewhere between 9 months and a full year in Oklahoma doing some ""fellowship job" (whatever that means besides little pay). Similar story with my brother who still gets 90% of his mail, including his license registration, sent to our mom's house in Ohio even though he lived in Chicago for 5 years except I'm not sure what's going to happen about a stack of unpaid parking tickets that have been sent there.

I know that PA has laws that doors are required on vehicles that came with doors when new but I've been in PA several times with no doors and 4 different times I've been there with or near 1000+ Jeeps in various forms of PA legality on the road at least 30 some miles from Ohio and I've seen cops wave at us.

I'm not saying you don't need to get wider flares but I don't think it's something to worry about.

Thanks, that's good to know. Plan A is to leave it registered in Arizona, but I like to be ready if there is an issue. The stories vary in the forums a lot. A lot of cops might pull over a 19 year old college girl driving a jeep with an AZ registration and no doors, so I got some tube doors as well.

Looks like an Amazon Seller has one in stock. Can you believe this price?
