4 nuts to remove when dropping transfer case

Hi All,

I am dropping my transfer case and keep reading that 4 nuts in the center of the skid plate have to be removed first. I see 4 nuts on the underside (1st pic) and then above the skid plate i see 4 more (2nd pic). Was hoping someone might be able to let me know. It is a 1997 4.0. Thanks in advance

1st pic is what you need to unbolt

Hit those bolts with some PB blaster or Kroil before wrenching

You might be looking for a new mount too. Pull the top 4 mounting bolts and get a good look at it. Replace with another rubber mount (Mopar if possible) . Poly mounts will transfer vibes straight into the seat bottoms.
