I maybe just being a little extra cautious, but pulling into the garage tonite after making a test run after doing a fine adjustment on my rear pinion angle, there was a noise like some bushing was not completely smooth coming from the OPDA, not the engine👍🏻. Using a long screwdriver with a Bottomless 1 gallon jug slipped over the screwdriver handle as a stethoscope everything on the engine sounds pretty much the same except when I put it on the OPDA, it was louder, not angry birds or laughing monkeys loud but louder and different than I expected. This OPDA is 2 years old from Crown I replaced it out of caution. I’ve already ordered a replacement from quadratech, but I’m not sure if this is normal and just the gear noise and sound traveling up through the shaft from the cam, am I just being paranoid?

first sound from the top of the valve cover, then top of the OPDA

Just got off the phone with Morris 4x4 and had them check inventory they don’t have them in their warehouse, rather they are drop shipping from Crown automotive, add an extra week For delivery. So, I’ve got one on order from Quadratech they listed 7 in stock but based on past reviews of poor service I’m guessing it’s drop ship as well and I’ve got one on order from Summit racing they advertise 5 in stock, we’ll see? Both orders I added next day air so wait and see whoever ships first. Good news is Crown through Morris 4x4 shows 69 in stock as of this morning.

FYI if you need to order an OPDA, Shipping update both Quadretech and summit racing have provided tracking numbers with estimated delivery dates meeting the promised next day Delivery 10/30 before 8pm, Same for the Mopar intake air temp sensor (MAF function) ordered next day shipping on schedule as well.

Good news if you find yourself in the market for a new OPDA or anything else I guess, both Quadratech and Summit Racing packages were delivered on my doorstep at 9:15 AM, super fast shipping.

Congratulations on getting the parts so quickly.
You more than likely received the packages that quickly since are near a distribution HUB in Las Vegas.

Success and not a moment to soon my 2 year old OPDA was beginning to show a little ware On the gear, the factory OPDA when I swapped them out had none after 185k miles however I don’t know what it looked like when Vegas 4x4 switched them? I did find the cap for the old Crown unit very very loose I could lift it a mm without having to loosen the retaining screws and no gasket.

when I first fired it up as it began to warm WHAM P0016, fortunately I’d carefully made alignment marks and just the tiniest adjustment fixed that issue the new Crown unit is running quieter.
