I noted some tjs have very accurate straight line cowl to windshield frame connection where the rubber weatherstrip is lined as straight bulging line. Others have center warp(mine included), is it designed by factory orbsomething wrong with it? Also i wanted to know default oem position of front cage bar? It has a small moving play with safety torx bolt, should it be all the way to the back or to front?
As you can see 1st tj and 2nd have different cowl to windshield frame connection, is it cowl problem or what?

Hello. I'm not an expert by any means, but that center warp, at least on my own 2003 TJ, is because of rust on the bottom part of the frame. I'm attaching pictures so you see what I'm talking about. I've read stories about windshields cracked because of the rust buildup. I'm trying to get a decently priced used OEM windshield frame now, because the aftermarket Chinese new ones have fitment issues. Good luck!

I lubed entire weatherstrip. It has no rust, no leak. It just makes whistle sound on high speed. Lubing didnt help. I was thinking the warp is because of sports bar position.(?)

As far as I know, the sports bar should keep the windshield frame lined up nicely with the front edge of the doors when the doors are already lined up nicely with the tub.

I see Kazakhstan can get pretty cold in the winter, I imagine it snows there which could cause salting (and/or other chemicals) on the roads which do cause rust but you say you don't have rust. I also see that it gets pretty darn hot towards the south in the summer. Too much heat and too much sun can cause problems with many different plastics and rubber.

Did you fold the windshield down when you lubed up the weatherstrip? If so, and you saw no problems, lubed the whole weatherstrip and still have issues maybe a new weatherstrip is needed.

FWIW, depending on what you used to lube the weatherstrip it could cause future problems.

Yes, i folded it down. Wd40 -ed the hinges and smeared my oily rag which i clean my hands on weatherstrip. I didnt have any silicone lube back when i folded it down. Now we have thick snow and ice. Also whenever you leave any habited area we have severe winds like those which roll over trucks.

If you, or a PO, had the window down; the cowl weatherstrip may not be seating properly as the window goes back up. Additionally, if it was ever left that way for any amount of time, it is now probably deformed.
