Recently got a P0700 &P0871 Pending error codes on my 2006 LJ.

P0871 - Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch "C" Circuit Range/Performance.

From the initial research I have done, this could possibly even be an issue with wiring or connections.

Has anyone fixed this issue or at least have an idea on where I should start to diagnose the issue. Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to take into consideration the service history of the transmission. Regular service for the 42RLE is fluid and filter change every 60,000 miles. Severe service interval is 30,000.

With our 42RLE the pressure sensor is incorporated into the solenoid pack. If the fluid is old, a fluid and filter change may help. The fluid is ATF+4. The manual calls for 4 quarts but my experience is 5 quarts when draining the pan and 5.5 when also replacing the filter.

Other than fluid, could be wiring, solenoid pack or PMC. The solenoid pack is inside the transmission, on top of the valve body. The connector is on the passenger side of the transmission.

The wiring runs from the PCM to the valve cover, then down the passenger side of the block and back to the transmission.

You may also want to check the transmission fuse and relay. Power for the solenoid pack runs from the battery through the #5 20A fuse and transmission relay in the PDC.

I appreciate your help. This gives me a great place to start.
