Moab Utah here we come

Let air out of the tires, down to 20 lbs and I'm much happier.
A little playing on the slick rock this morning. No poser pictures yet.... they're coming!

What trails do you plan to take?

We spent the morning on Fins and things, which is considered difficult. It has a lot of very steep climbs and ledge drops. I have done it with a Jeep with lockers and one without and I would NEVER do it again without lockers. We are probably going to do Poison Spider tomorrow. We also did Gemini Bridges, long canyon which are easy.
If you look at the pic above you will notice I didn't have my sway bar disconnected.

Chris this is a great place. We discovered it about 15 years ago while returning from Sturgis on our Harley. We love the place and it's where I first rented a Jeep and discovered how much there was to see and do here. We also enjoy long hikes, this place has it all for us.

Can't say I blame you. I've only seen it in photos, but it looks stunning!

If you want to see bad ass Jeeps this is the place. On a typical day here you will see jeeps and other off road rigs that make anything displayed on this site look like a toy, no disrespect to anyone here but there are guys here who spend incredible amounts of money to build the biggest and baddest. My 5 inch lifted Rubicon looks like something a soccer mom would drive here.

From what I have read, a great part about Moab is the variety of trails from mild to wild. My brother lives in CO and has been modding his 4 Runner and wants to meet up there. Maybe next year.

Oh I believe you, I really do. Those guys who wheel out there have some seriously built rigs, with massive amounts of money into them.

We ran Fins and Things and followed that up with Hells Revenge. You must have taken some tougher lines on Fins. I made it thru without too much hassle. I was disco'd and aired down to about 12psi, so that may have aided in my assault.
My favorite trail on that trip was Seven Mile Rim. The scenery was unparalleled. Fun trail too. Keep the pics coming sir!

I have done Fins and Things 4 times. This last time I purposely took the hardest lines on the steep climbs and drops, I wanted to find the limits for this Jeep as it is set up. I never hit a skid plate but came close on two occasions to rolling the rig. I have decided a 5 inch lift is too high. I like a lower center of gravity on the steep stuff.

I would agree with your conclusion on your lift height.

The point I was trying to make was that in a previous Jeep a jk unlimited no lockers, I did Fins and Things and my Rubicon with lockers was so much better even though I was taking the hardest possible lines. Love them lockers!

Heading home tomorrow, a great trip and the Jeep survived with no damage. My conclusion about the setup, as I previously stated I think the 5 inch lift is too much for Moab style rock crawling. On level or fairly level ground the height would be great because even my 33 inch tires never came close to hitting my fenders and the rig was flexed to the max! On steep downhill ledgers and drops it is fairly easy to roll this Jeep believe me when I say I came dangerously close several times. On one feature, we were dropping down a 20 foot shelf and my passenger front tire dropped into a hole. The Jeep was pointing nearly straight down when the rear of the Jeep left the rocks. We were teetering on the edge and I thought this would make a great picture. The problem was my wife couldn't open her door and if I tried to high side it and get out it would have rolled. That was one time I wish we were doing the trail with another Jeep. I think tall tires and a minimal lift to keep the central of gravity lower would work better on steep descents. On large boulder fields this Jeep is amazing!
