Drove past this the other day. 2004 LJ for $40k.
Dealer said its a "custom build"
"one off" for a past SEMA show.

$40k and you must buy it before you can drive it. No test drives!!

It does only have 28k miles on it.

Yeah. When I asked the dealer about the jeep he said I could come look at it but there are no test drives. Unless I buy it. Then I can drive it.

Geesh.....

That is fugly. Whenever I see a crazy (and usually ugly) custom paint job, it screams 'lifetime owner'... because they're going to have a heck of a time selling it.

40 grand for bush cracker fender flares. I’m sure the rest of the parts are top quality as well.

25k would be a stretch for that jeep.

There's no way that is inside at sema. Maybe in a parking lot a few blocks away.

LOL $40k? Even if it was stock with 28k miles they wouldn't get 40 grand. The mods lower the value.

I believe this was an LJ built by OR-FAB. Bumpers and rock rails are all their stuff. The orfab gecko seen painted on the hood and on the roll bar padding is also their thing.

What I assume is this LJ can be seen in some product listings

Don't think I have ever heard of not being allowed to test drive a car until you have bought it. Even at auctions over here you get to drive a few hundred yards. How can that not sound the loudest warning bell ever, what possible reason can a seller have for saying that which would not send any prospective buyer running for the hills? I'd love to know what reason the seller is giving for not allowing any test drive.

Well the way he was talking it sounded like it this jeep was so special that it can only be touched by the new owner. (Or the nutty dealer)

The stuff on his lot has been there for months, some a year or more. His prices are crazy.

Was SEMA lame as shit in '04? I don't remember.

"Custom one-off build" lol. I guess it depends on your definition of a "build". My '99 Sahara is a custom one-off because I've bolted various things to it in a combination that I've never seen before, plus I made my daughter a built-in box for her sunglasses under the rear window. SEMA here I come.
