I hear this noise everytime my Jeep gets rolling above 10 mph and stays until i’m at about 40-55 mph. I have noticed it rings as the tires rotate but I can’t seem to track where it’s coming from. Sounds closer to the rear end and underneath the driver seat. These are new tires and the noise showed up about a week after they were installed. Any help is appreciated as it’s driving me crazy.

check your cv/double cardan joint on the front driveshaft. after mudding or prolonged exposure to loose dirt these tend to go bad withojut proper maintenance. this may not be your issue but it is worth looking into, the sound is known as angry sparrows.

What should I look for while checking my front driveshaft, just basic signs of wear? Do you think it is still safe to drive on

Sounds like the angry sparrows sydrome. Pull the front DS and see if the sound goes away. If it does, It's likely that the DS centering yoke needs a rebuild.

sorry for taking long to get back. LJBean is correct the best thing to do is to remove the driveshaft and drive to see if the sound goes away. you can also unbolt the shaft at the front axle and ratchet strap it up away from everything very securely and drive back and forth, with the tcase in 2 hi the front shaft will not spin and you can see if thats your issue. unbolting at the axle is pretty easy its just 4 bolts i believe bu tthey can be tight. you cant really tell if thats ur issue visually so you will need to unbolt, and yes if thats ur issue its safe to drive on but i recommend just pulling out the front driveshaft and rebuilding it with gresablke joints. the jeep can still be driven in 2wd with no front shaft

I have an angry sparrow. So the plan is to replace the centering yoke and the 3 u joints on the front DS. I’ve seen the Spicer kits ... but I cannot seem to find the NON greaseable u joints. I understand they are stronger. Anyone know a part number or kit number ?
