Underhood insulation removal?

Mine is an 05, Rubicon, Sahara, Unlimited number 009 of 1000. I got it because it was the only one with the seats that I wanted. Now I'm ready to replace them.;)

That would be these Chris. Good comfortable, high back, fully reclining seats, even for long hauls. However the fabric stained every time they got wet and that was often. Now the cushion is starting to break down a bit and they are dirty beyond cleaning.

So those are just the stock high back seats that come in the 03+ models, yeah?

Yep, I have the same style in my 98 but they are leather. I got them from a junkyard in VA let summer. $250 for all three seats. Way more comfortable than the stock 98 seats. Also more comfortable than the WJ Cherokee seats I had put on my 98 rails originally. Only drawback is in the summer when the top is off, you have to be smart when jumping onto leather seats that have been baking in the sun. Ease of cleaning make them well worth it to me though. .

Leather was never an option, was it? Looks like a nice aftermarket upholstery job.

I really like my highjack seats in my 05, they're comfortable on long trips.

I have never been able to find it as an option, but whoever did it, definitely knew what they were doing as it is done VERY well. Looks as good as any factory leather seat I have ever seen. I also really like the way the backseat tumbles a lot better on the 03-06 as opposed to the 97-02. High on my list of favorite interior mods I have done.

Yeah, it does look like a damn good upholstery job. NICE junk yard find!

I've never had a chance to see the tumbling back seat in the 97-02.

the early TJs did not have the handle up top in the middle of the seat to release it. There is a latch at the bottom left corner in the rear of the seat that you have to pull up then manually fold the seat forward. As you know the newer ones (like I now have) have springs that help them flip forward once the handle has been pulled. Doesn't sound too bad until you have a toolbox and other stuff crammed back there and need to get your hand (in my case, rather large hand) down to the base of the seat to release it and flip it forward.

Ahhh, no wonder I haven't had this problem yet since I never use the tumble feature on the rear seat. I've got two car seats in the back so that seat never even moves, haha!

Not the same seat. Check the shoulders. I don't think Jeep ever offered leather. However. I like what you have.

My LJ was a Sahara, Unlimited edition, number 009 of 1,000 Rubicon with some type of off-road package that gave it the winch, front stinger, and I can't remember what else. Had more damn bells and whistles than I care to count. Had to buy it to get the real options I wanted. Most of which are in the garbage now. Like that crappy under hood insulation. It was the biggest dirt/dust collector I have ever seen. However it fit very nicely in my garbage can!

My 05 Unlimited has the insulation. With just over 45K miles on it the insulation was pretty dusty and spotted from the years. I took a wet rag and it actually cleaned right up. If it wouldn't have come clean it would have been ripped out.
