What is this squeaking noise?

This squeak has developed over the last three months. Intermittent at first, now pretty constant. I drive about 30km a week, with a longer trip wheeling maybe once a month.

Sounds like it’s coming from the undercarriage somewhere, not the engine, not the body (not a rattle).

Doesn’t seem to get faster or louder with speed, is present from the moment I turn the car on (cold), and doesn’t seem to go away when the car warms up! Only squeaks when I drive, both forwards and backwards.

Doesn’t seem to change tempo or volume or pitch at all. Haven’t noticed it changing at all with cornering.

I have a couple of ideas what it could be but I don’t want to say in case I mislead. Here’s the video! Hopefully you can hear it, if not I will have another go tomorrow.

Thanks man I will look for loose bolts, hadn’t thought of that, plus will recheck Universal Joints at wheels and shafts. The beauty of being on the other side of the planet to the States is that I might hopefully wake up to a laundry list of other things I can check tomorrow before I have to go back to work 🙏🏻

I had a squeak that I couldn’t identify. Got on the ground and lifted the Jeep up and down by the rear bumper and was able to pinpoint the area very easily. Drivers side rear shock top mounting loop had slid sideways off of the rubber boss that runs through it and the metal loop was rubbing against the access hole in the tub. Pretty simple fix.

Did you ever get this fixed? I have a similar problem and can’t figure it out for the life of me.

I have a similar problem and can’t figure it out for the life of me.

Is it suspension related; cornering, bumps, start/stop?
Or is it rotational; every rotation of the wheel, constant when moving, only when engine is running?

I had a wire loom (or the plastic wire tie) rubbing on the bottom of the tub one time.

I’d say more rotational, but not at exceptionally slow speeds. I posted on here in my own thread a few days ago, I’ll copy what I said here, along with the video of it.
Hey folks,
Thanks in advance for the help. I’ve seen a thread with what might be a similar issue to the one I’m having, but even then the thread came to no conclusion on a solution. I’ve been dealing with a high pitched squeaking from the passenger side for quite some time now, and it cuts through all other noise. There’s no drowning this out or learning to ignore it like I have the many other noises on these cars. This noise is heard at the same pitch regardless of the speed the car is traveling at, and is heard at every speed except for when I’m crawling in first gear. It does become somewhat more frequent as the car speeds up. This noise is also heard more when going over rough road. The ride on the car is still smooth and acceleration normal, which makes me skeptical of a u-joint issue, but I could be wrong. Can’t seem to replicate this noise when the car is still. I’ve attached a video of it. You may have to listen closely, I’ve been told it can be hard to hear for some.
Again, thx for all the help.🤘
