Ok so let me get some opinions here,

my Jeep is forest green pearl with black interior trim and the gray seats that went with that interior, and a tan soft top. It has aluminum 16” m/t classic 2’s.

i like the green and black trim on the exterior, (for the record I’m thinking I want to chop the hood and put black high line flat {tube} fenders on it down the road a little ways)
I really like the green with the tan soft top, I kinda wish I had tan interior, but I don’t know, the black isn’t terrible.

I’m thinking I want to swap the seats out for some green and tan Sahara seats, or if I get really lucky maybe the camo willys seats. How do you think the Sahara seats would look with the black interior? Anybody done that and have pics?

I’ve also seen a few TJs with the grilles painted black and it looked really good contrasting with the body color, anybody got pics of a green Jeep with a black grille?

I’m also thinking about painting the wheels black. I like the aluminum look but I think Black would look better maybe. Any opinions on this?

I know these are all aesthetic questions and everyone has different tastes and opinions, but I’m curious what y’all think. The Jeep has tons of scratches and dings (like it should be!) so it’s not like I’m trying to make it perfect, I just think it would look good with black wheels and maybe a black grille, and I THINK it would look good with some Sahara seats.

also a couple more questions while I’m at it, the smittybilt molle seat covers, for those that have them, how do you like them? How much leg room would the kids have in the back seat with these installed and the lower bags removed from them? I’m aware of shittybilts reputation and the fading issues with the green ones and the shitty bungee attachments, etc...but the bartact aren’t really in the budget right now and these seem like a viable option for some extra storage. Also is the smittybilt molle overhead console as bad as I think it would be as far as hanging down in the way, or is it decent?
Just looking for some extra storage for some things i keep in the jeep and to give the kids a few places to stash some toys and things when we go out playing in creeks.

I tried to upload a few pics but I kept getting a “parsing response failed” message. Maybe my post count isn’t high enough yet? Anyway I’ll figure it out and post a few pics tomorrow, but for now, it’s the jeep in my avatar.

thanks guys.

If you think it’ll look good, go ahead and do it. It’s aesthetics anyway so it can be changed back (except for wheels). Personally I would not change out the seats and grill but hey, you do you

Well dang that didn’t work. I just tried again with the “attach files” method and the pics loaded 100% but I couldn’t figure out how to get them into the post. Ah well. My phone is slow at home. So I’ll try again tomorrow at work.

I’m Thinking it may not be worth the hassle either. Although I wouldn’t be switching out the entire interior, just the seats. And like I said it’s not really that important, just aesthetic musings. But I am keeping my tan top tho! I’ve always wanted a green tj with a tan top. It stays! Lol.

There we go. For some reason the first time I tried posting photos it didn’t give me the option to insert. Anyway. There she is. And with the 4.6, d44s and lockers it EASILY gets to the same spots I had my stock ‘06 wrangler x 4.0 on 31s in. And I had that thing in some pretty gnarly spots for a stock wrangler x. I enjoyed my old ‘06 I bought it new and really learned a lot about wheeling, by necessity, because of it being stock, but man, I LOVE this green Jeep.

Jeep looks awesome! Me personally, I'd leave the grill. That green is a dark enough color that theres not gonna be the right contrast in my mind. In some light it may just look like something off to someone that doesn't know it's been painted black

Those neoprene covers have come a long way.
What's up with the cotton mouth in picture 2?

@Joe Biden, thanks!
yea I’ve thought the dark green may be too dark to contrast with the black grille also. Maybe that’s why I can’t find any pics of dark green ones with black grilles! Lol. But man, I’ve seen some solar yellow, red, orange and a couple other colors with black grilles and they look sharp! I just wanted to see what green/black looked like.

@Rubicon88
Man don’t do that to me! Lol I was looking everywhere in the pic for a damn cottonmouth. They’re around. we live close to a swamp.

@L J
No body lift. It’s a weld on teraflex 4 inch long arm with triangulated 4-link. I know the long arm lifts aren’t popular around here, but so far so good for me. No complaints yet. However I DO want a body lift. Well, I don’t WANT a body lift, but I’m thinking about a 1-1.25 so I can do a TT and raise the gas tank a little bit. I know there are a few benefits, but I just don’t like the looks of body lifts. I reckon I’ll put one on tho. I’ll just wait until I have all the other necessary things for the TT and raising the gas tank, etc.

@John Cooper
Thank you sir! I can’t take the credit for the work done so far, but I can say that it’s pretty much exactly how I wanted my ‘06 and it was way cheaper to buy it already done than to do it myself. But fear not, there are plenty of other things to take my money that I want to do to “finish” it! Hahaha

😎😎😎

I lived a year down in north eastern Florida...it was a few miles away from that little tiny notch of Georgia that dips down into Florida.

Let me tell ya....I know about the cotton mouth alright.

Plasti-dip is cheap and reversible. Put it on a properly prepped surface, multiple coats, and it will wear well before getting ratty looking.
It can help decide if you like it and then can make it more permanent with a proper spray job.

Bartact seat covers are on the expensive side but looking at your Jeep it doesn't really look to be build for the shittybilt seat covers quality. Bartact also can give you just about any color out there, except for the purple my wife wants. They said it's because they can't find a purple that doesn't fade so I guess they found other colors with no problem. My 3 yr old black covers with graphite inserts look the same as when new and have been in open sun and rain 5 or 6 months each year so far and 13 months of dog.
