Hopefully it’s a a 2012 or newer or you messed up big time 😉

Nice to know you’re still alive!

That 3.8 is worse than the 4.0, just saying. But as long as you’re happy with it 👍

If you regear it will be alright. Make sure your PCV system is in check. The only complaint I really had with the 3.8 motor was the quart of oil every thousand miles on average. Once I went up in weight, it calmed down a bit. The 3.6 motor fixed that for them.

In all honesty, I'm looking at an '08 Rubicon with a newly installed 3.8 factory motor.

I know plenty of people who have no problems with the 3.8 if it’s mated to a manual. Just chugs some oil but other than that shouldn’t be an issue especially with a lighter two door. Enjoy your new Jeep I dig the color!

My next build may be an early JKU just for the relative ease of the Hemi swap (and since they can be had cheaper than my LJ!)...
No joke. The JKU Rubi(I verified the vin) I'm looking at has no rust in the frame, or anywhere, newly installed motor(less than 1k miles) and everything works plus the body has less than 90k miles and all of that with a clean unmolested interior for less than $14k. I paid twice and a half that for my 2011 JKU back then and still had to have it lifted and regear the axles and it didn't have lockers or anything. With a kid and trying to avoid the blame game with the divorce, having four doors and electric windows and locks will be a good thing for me. Plus I am a firm believer it will make it much better to go camping with the kid without having to worry about anything.
