Its for the Compass Temp rear view mirror when fitted. I think most have the harness, mine runs up the pillar and along the header cover.Hi all,
Just took off the cowling behind the windshield on top of the dash. Wondering what this white connector is for that sits above the glove box on passenger side?

Plus there's a reverse/back-up light wire in that bundle in case you need a trigger wire for a back up camera. Also a good place to hard wire your GPS, its fitted to the ignition switch so only live at start up
That's what I did. Great solution.Plus there's a reverse/back-up light wire in that bundle in case you need a trigger wire for a back up camera.
I think my trail Guide GPS is also connected to mine? but haven't messed with it yet, I have to take it off to fit a rocker switch on the switch panel.Plus there's a reverse/back-up light wire in that bundle in case you need a trigger wire for a back up camera.
Just wondering why it would have reverse light wires there? Perhaps thats what my reverse lights are connected to?Plus there's a reverse/back-up light wire in that bundle in case you need a trigger wire for a back up camera.

I don't have the auto dimming mirror in my Jeep, but it is my understanding that when the Jeep is shifted into reverse the auto dimming feature in the mirror is disabled to ensure better rearward visibility; hence the mirror's need for the reverse trigger wire.Just wondering why it would have reverse light wires there? You learn something new every day! I have never notice the mirror dimming as I am usually in my door mirrors or turned to look out the rear window. It has down lights built in and I knew you could change the brightness manually.I don't have the auto dimming mirror in my Jeep, but it is my understanding that when the Jeep is shifted into reverse the auto dimming feature in the mirror is disabled to ensure better rearward visibility; hence the mirror's need for the reverse trigger wire.
