Need some advice on choosing a front bumper. It's not a pristine LJ but I would say it's a nicer one so I don't want to just trash it. I will be using my Jeep for hunting and trail fun, no rock climbing. Up and down some occasional steep creek banks and running through overgrown roads. Current bumper shown seems like it will give some protection when running through overgrown privet, very small trees, tall weeds etc. I have the option to get a JCR stubby for a VERY good price but it will expose the fenders and it may look weird on my current set-up (31's, 2 inch lift). I have a JCR on the rear. Here is JCR front: https://www.jcroffroad.com/product/SWBFM.html

I am hemorrhaging money since I bought it but found this EAG bumper and like the looks of it

Will this bumper hold up to winching, fallen trees out of road, my DA when I get stuck and does the extra width really add that much protection for what I describe above. D-rings were just stuck on there to bring bumper home, haven't bothered to take them off so no grief for that please!:D:D:D

Narrow bumpers means bent fenders if you use your Jeep. I don't know the details of that EAG but if the winch plate isn't 1/4" steel I might not trust it. I like the idea of getting a used winch plate and then a cheap full width bumper. Winch plates turn up all the time when people upgrade bumpers or at least they do around here. A stable platform for the winch is really important and if you just get a cheap beater bumper you can replace that instead of fenders which need paint and cost allot more to fix when they get messed up.

I have an Olympic full (57") wide bumper on The Muddog. They used to offer a slightly, (50", I think) bumper, but I don't see it on their website. Other vendors might have some in stock.
It's made of 3/16" welded plate. I also have a grill guard with mine. I believe it's from Rugged Ridge.
