Bestop sunrider has a hinge where it opens. That hinge is apparently called a pivot knuckle and a search shows some chatter on JK forums about the part failing. Well I have a 2006 TJ and can't find a replacement specifically for my old girl, and Bestop customer service is just not getting back to me , which is surprising. I found a part that looks identical at Extreme Terrain but they say it won't fit a 2006, however the same part is also available at Just For Jeeps and they say it will fit 2004 - 2018. Before I go paying $46 plus shipping I figured I would check here and see if anyone else has been in the same boat. This is what the part looks like:

Sure looks just like the knuckle on my new Bestop Sunrider top I just installed a week ago to me?
Compare.
I assume you have the slide bar they got rid of because it could break the knuckle if not slid back far enough when opening the Sunrider feature?

That's the broken part. I have no idea what happened (I don't have the sleeve) but I noticed it last week. I called Bestop Wednesday, the girl couldn't picture the part I was describing so she sent me her email address and I took some pictures and sent them to her. I followed up Thursday, and again Friday, and again today. So far she hasn't responded and I'm thinking she's blowing me off. I just want to replace the pivot knuckle and if I have to buy it I will. Now I found them at a few places (MOPAR parts, Just For Jeeps, Extreme Terrain) but it's not clear it will fit a 2006 TJ roof frame so I asked Bestop - again, no response. This is the break:

Finally called Bestop again yesterday and got a different customer service person. We got the whole thing straightened out in 10 minutes. He says the knuckle is the same on the TJ and JK but they don't recommend installing it because of the possibility of under/over torquing the little retainer screws. So they're sending me a new side bow. Still might just buy the pivot knuckle and try replacing the broken one just to see how it goes.

Bumping this because I had the same problem on my 97 TJ. I emailed Bestop and didn't hear anything back, so finally I called (twice) and had this part sent to me. Part number is 404.08P and they do have them, it just doesn't come up in the parts diagram as a separate item. Hope this helps someone else trying to fix this at a later date.
