Just got back from another vacation / road-trip in the LJ. Spent all last week hiking in the Adirondacks for the most part. Took the bikes over to Burlington for a day as well. Jeep performed awesome. Obvious the axles could use some different gears now, but it’ll do until then.

Just to update my build thread from the separate thread I created. The one pre cat started rattling a week before taking the LJ on a road trip. Figured I needed to replace it immediately because didn't want to run into issues on vacation. Had a Magnaflow HM setup overnighted and installed it...

Well the jeep is all back together and took it for a test ride. Probably one of the least problematic times I’ve had working on jeeps! The third cat sits pretty close to the exhaust hanger on the trans mount. May have to make some adjustments if it starts hitting it, but it’s good for now.

For anyone else who reads this, removing the 4 bolts at the pre cats with this socket makes it a breeze.

Didn’t feel like waiting till Monday for my sensors, so ran down to local parts store and grab 2 ntk sensors. Just waiting on the new mopar nuts for the exhaust manifold now. Should be here tomorrow.

I’ve never had my check engine light on for anything cat related and no exhaust leaks.

I have new coming but they won’t be here until Monday. Was going to try and stick with the old ones until I need to swap them out. I was able to get one of them out so far. Other one is a little stubborn.

Update! So far the only items giving me difficulty are the O2 sensors. Rest of the bolts came out with little to no effort. Definitely found the source of my rattle. Other side is still in place but deteriorated. I found it strange, but all 4 of the bolts up at the pre cats were barely tight at...

I'll keep that in mind, but I haven't seen any bad posts on magnaflow cats for our TJ/LJ's yet. I have seen poor customer serviced posts though.

These are the bolt for the third cat where it attaches to the tail pipe / muffler. I couldnt find any so i ended up order some M10-1.5 bolts in various lengths. According to blaine and some other posts i saw, that is the size for the 4 bolts at the precats.

I’ve got a magnaflow setup showing up tomorrow, didn’t wanted to mess around and order a flowmaster from some place and then get an email a day later saying it’s out of stock. I need it by tomorrow so I can replace it this weekend.

That’s what I wanted but they are out of stock everywhere now.

Yeah, I literally just ran into this yesterday as well. I had to order the magnaflow setup becasue i need my jeep fix now.
