    Sumo rear springs installation

Oh yeah the 5000x isn't even in consideration... I was just curious about the bumps and how they performed, sounds like they do just fine.

    Sumo rear springs installation

Curious how the currie bumps worked out for you and if you were talking about the adjustable ones or something else. I had teraflex progressive bump stops on the JT and they were fantastic, but I think the sumo springs are the only comparable option for TJ's

    Considering a 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery

Yeah but what are you planning on running off of the lithium? If your just running things like a fridge, lights, etc.. that could be ok, but if your trying to run the PCM off of the lithium the different voltages could be a problem. And dont even think about using the lithium for a winch...

Can't decide on flooring options (opinions wanted)

I dont have a garage, or any covered area to dry anything out unfortunately.

Can't decide on flooring options (opinions wanted)

Rather than starting a new thread I will resurrect this old bit of history. Took out the worn out carpet (back only so far) of the TJ to ponder ideas for either Monstaliner/Rhinoliner, or a replacement carpet, etc... The back will have a storage box with lid lift (kinda like this...

    Considering a 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery

Yeah until things change and are more stable Ill stick with the heavy weight if AGM. The DC-115’s I got for JT supposedly, according to the engineer, good for 70% DOD. Thats way better than the standard 50%. Good enough for me and way more stable

    Considering a 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery

To expand, the lithium battery system in a hybrid is completely separated from the rest of the main vehicle's electrical system by BMS components. The lithium battery pack is charged via a on board (or plug-in for a fully electric) charger. So the alternator is not directly charging the...

    Steering box u-joint seems loose

Agreed, but I have had those joints go bad in old trucks before so might warrant a replacement of steering gear and shaft.

    Considering a 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery

Replacing a factory AGM with a lithium is not going to go well. Many have tried this with the more modern Jeeps JT/JL and it 'worked' for about a month then they were stranded. Lithium requires a specific charging profile that is different than AGM. Granted the JT does not use a 'smart'...

Frame side front track bar - is there a sleeve?

The RC track bar I put a link to above I am confident would work. https://www.quadratec.com/p/rough-country/front-forged-adjustable-track-bar-wrangler-tj/0-3.5in-lift-1044 Its good for 0-3.5" they say. It does require drilling yet another hole, but interestingly it positions the frame side...

Frame side front track bar - is there a sleeve?

I was thinking that only if I can't find a sleeve or if having bored out the frame side mount would be problematic for a more stock style track bar. That teraflex one does require a minimum of 2" of lift too though. If I can't get any lower than that then I probably would be better off...

Frame side front track bar - is there a sleeve?

Good idea! Thats kinda was I was looking for. Another option is this. It requires drilling another hole of course.... But I dont see why it wouldn't work, and would be adjustable still. I did call rock jock and they claim 2" it the lowest amount of lift their track bar will work with. I...

Frame side front track bar - is there a sleeve?

I am working on returning my TJ to mostly stock ride height - maybe a 2" lift at the most, preferably stock springs with maybe a 3/4" spacer. This is my daily, and the forest service roads here in no way require the current 4" rock jock I have - I will not be rock crawling in my future and it...

    NSG370 vs 42RLE

Over on the Gladiator forum I saw countless people putting in $10K+ lifts to never use them. Of course there are a handful that do almost every weekend, but the majority never used the high end components they purchased. I opted for the AEV option due to weight and wanting to retain stock...

    Chinook Pass

It's a really cool place, I want to go back and drive to the mining camp. Took the Gladiator last time and it was too heavy to be safe on a couple of the declining bridges.

    Chinook Pass

You need to take a trip to bumping lake. Past the campground FSR 1800 continues on the south side of the lake. You can turn off (left) onto 1808000 (deep creek) and about 6 miles in will come up to a historical mine site. That road, 4W654, goes to the old copper city mine with some fantastic...

    How to change your OPDA

Of all these OPDA issues I have read about there is one unanswered question I still have so far. Aside from having a 06 TJ at 138K miles and 06 LJ with 65K miles and likely the original part. Yes replacements will be on the way next paycheck. However - has anybody who has done the updated...

    NSG370 vs 42RLE

Good timing, I spoke with him yesterday to get a PCM ordered soon for my 06 LJ auto and TJ manual. He did mention a tuned version being available but first asked if my state had emissions or inspections. I'll be ordering one from him possibly this week, more likely in a couple weeks. The...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Its funny, well not really.. I just sold my JT in favor of my TJ and LJ due to reliability and long term ownership concerns. The new JT/JL's are having all kinds of problems of their own and the more advanced computer systems make them a royal pain to work on in some regards, not to mention...
