    TJ for $6800

Not half bad for a 130k mile TJ if it is rust free. Looks like it has an L6. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/581050421146103/?ref=product_details&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks

Jeep LJ not sitting level after lift

I am not following this. If you are on a perfectly flat surface like a concrete garage floor, how can the rear bumper be perfectly level and the front bumper different 1.5 inches side to side? That says the frame is twisted. It doesn’t matter what the springs are, the bumpers should be parallel.

    Front Drive Shaft Details

I rebuilt my front drive shaft several years ago, after which I had a thrumming vibration at 55 mph or higher. I had the shaft re-balanced and straightened at a drive shaft shop and that helped slightly. By now I was in for about $250. I finally threw in the towel and bought a new drive shaft...

    Front Drive Shaft Details

Regardless of where you get the parts, do this right away. It is likely the double Cardan may be about to crater and when it does it will destroy the transfer case, maybe more. Then you will have a real problem.

Perhaps a one inch motor mount lift would be sufficient without an SYE. I doubt it but maybe.

SOLD 2006 TJ soft top from Rubicon

I have a soft top with frame that came with the 2006 TJR when I bought it about 10 years ago. The top looks like it has been installed at some point but it is in very good condition. The windows are perfect. I will let it go for $200 to anyone that is willing to pick it up. I will not ship it.

    Flat Towing An Older Jeep

Call me paranoid but I would put a shield on that lower radiator cap. I worried about stones being thrown up by the tow vehicle hitting that plastic cap. Overkill? Probably but it is cheap insurance.

    Non-4WD Jeep

The Postal service used 2WD Jeep DJs, otherwise known as AM Generals. They were basically 2WD CJs. They had limited slip differentials.

    Clutch Operation Question

I am not really sure. Warpage? Hot spots? Scoring? Generally speaking they don’t need to be replaced, or so I am told.

    Clutch Operation Question

A new clutch will probably solve your problem. If you replace it do not machine the flywheel. It has a convex surface and should not be milled flat. Replace it if neccesary. It is a good time to replace the rear main seal also. If the clutch was previously replaced and the flywheel machined...

    Stock skid plate replacement

I have the Barnes in my TJR. It lifts the TC maybe 3/4 inch. That 3/4 inch in addition to a 2.5 inch spring lift was enough to require installation of a DC driveshaft.

Took 2006 TJ (with brand new engine) into the shop for first oil change and left with busted transmission

A couple of years ago I took my TJ to a shop to have new tires put on. While waiting, I saw them trying to move the Jeep into a bay and it was jerking, stalling, grinding, etc. One guy was walking beside the Jeep talking and one was in it trying to drive it. As it turned out the driver was...

    Don't Wheel Alone

We have a mount for the Starlink on our truck camper. It has worked flawlessly, even driving up through narrow mountain passes or camping under some tree cover. Starlink works fabulously well for what seems like a reasonable cost.

    Don't Wheel Alone

I carry HF/VHF/UHF amateur radios along with a CB (which is worthless). I also have an Inreach tracker. I am seriously considering putting a mount for our Starlink mini on also.

    Don't Wheel Alone

I have found two vehicles abandoned in very rough terrain. The first was a Volkswagon of some sort and the oil sump was torn up and I think the gas tank too. There was no note or any indication of who or how many people there were or where they went. We reported this to the forest service but...
