Upgrading the sound system on your Jeep Wrangler TJ

+1 @JMT try to get the Speaker and Mounting Ring attached as one solid unit and then attach to the Speaker Pod. Removing the pods from the Jeep would be the easiest way to get the Speakers, Rings and Pods well connected with no gaps.

112dB's 2002 Sahara Stereo Install Saga

Another brand is CDT, they have similar speakers and pods that you can buy. Wideband Speakers https://www.cdtaudio.com/main_series/widebnd-drivers.htm Wideband Pods https://www.cdtaudio.com/main_series/widebnd-pods.htm The German Pod guy can custom make any pod if you send him specs which...

112dB's 2002 Sahara Stereo Install Saga

Ha, yes, I keep looking into 3D printing but as you said this is a deep rabbit hole of which I have no bandwidth for. Looks so cool though, lots of fun options. Arc Audio is nice, I have not bought or heard there stuff in a while but I did enjoy the KS mini I had in the Jeep about 6 years ago...

Upgrading the sound system on your Jeep Wrangler TJ

Agreed...but how many head unit reviews can a person watch. They are helpful when looking for a new product and they do know their stuff. I almost pissed my pants when I was driving to the airport and saw their shop, I forced a family pit stop to say hi.

Upgrading the sound system on your Jeep Wrangler TJ

I just put the 165RC set into a different vehicle. powered by a Sound Digital amp, and it cranks. I cannot believe how loud and clear these BLAMs play, and these are their entry level Series. I picked mine up while on vacation, randomly ran into the Five Star Car Audio shop and picked these...

112dB's 2002 Sahara Stereo Install Saga

Morel is a good alternative, solid brand, and would be similar with the other brands I mentioned. What software and brand of 3D printer do you have? I have started to look into that... BLAM's prices are great through Incartec, I ordered multiple components through that store and it has been...

112dB's 2002 Sahara Stereo Install Saga

Here is a company called Jehnert, they have a 2" tweeter and 5.25" low range woofer that may fit what you are looking for. Prices are solid as well. https://www.jehnert.de/en/shop/speakers-equipment/midrange/xe-55-midrange-driver-o-55mm-2/...

112dB's 2002 Sahara Stereo Install Saga

Just not worth it since it would require a lot of hacking. A deeper sounding 5.25" woofer would be the solution, one that plays lower frequencies, well. Money spent on a specific speaker for your application would be more efficient. Jeep is what it is, and you can make a good sounding system...

112dB's 2002 Sahara Stereo Install Saga

You had the 5.25" BLAM 130 RS, but you did not use their tweeter. The tweeter was from Micro Precision. I just bought and installed the 130 RC's in the Jeep last night, but you could go for the 130 RS from this place. I ordered my 130 RC's this past Saturday and I received them yesterday -...

    Best dash tweeters

They do NOT have a built in crossover, or inline crossover. Both Chris and I have these, Chris used to, but we drove them off an Audiotec Fischer amp which has a built in Digital Sound Processor (DSP) where you program the frequency and other settings through software. Micro Precision is...

2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Sahara Brunswick, ME

Looks like they took care of it and even paid for some fluid film to help out. If this did not have a new engine I would be driving to Maine to buy. Been looking for a Rubihara with a good number, and 969 is approved. My childish humor would giggle every time looking at the number 69.

    Pennsylvania Sundown Audio ZV3 15" Subwoofers (2)

Did you install these beasts in the Jeep or other vehicle? Did you have a box for them or possibly in another vehicle you ran an IB set-up, rear deck using the trunk? Great deal for someone looking to get a killer system on a budget...

A potentially simpler approach to upgrading your TJ audio

I forget your set up but would something like this be compatible, and you would not lose your CD player. Can connect directly to your amplifier. https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item-95993-NVX-VUBT2.html

Upgrading the sound system on your Jeep Wrangler TJ

You could trade your center console with someone looking for one with a subwoofer. Lots of people try to add the subwoofer, but others like the space. Depends on how each person uses their Jeep. Tuffy makes a center console without subwoofer, it is top quality and comes with a lock...

    Subwoofer Questions

It's a brand called Match and is directly plugs into my amplifier, sort of like a set. You can easily make something similar though...here is a link to it on Crutchfield. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-NRem8OQ8Xxt/p_975PP10ED/MATCH-PP10E-D-Compact-Sub.html Audiotec Fischer makes the MATCH...

    Subwoofer Questions

The single best simple and economical upgrade, which is not for everyone, is to purchase 5.25" components and relocate the tweeters to the dash, so they are on axis. Amplifier would be great for them. I have an 8" subwoofer in the center console, using a Tuffy console, and I have dual 10" subs...

4 O2 sensor codes at once

I had all four codes on my LJ and tried the PCM swap, manual tranny though which has different PCM issues than the automatic. Mine was a bad cat, and that can easily be confirmed by removing the exhaust and looking. Before dropping a bunch of money on a PCM or parts, you can check this for...

Should I Tune for Frequency Response?

You should specify what he should test as again you are not speaking to this topic properly at all. You have no idea what RF's intended specs are, no clue, maybe they have 6dB slope at 90hZ which would produce sound at 20hZ. Maybe it is a 18dB slope and you would still hear sound 40hZ. Or...
