I have never seen a fridge with the controls outside of the unit.

I have yet to put eyes on the slate here on LI, I have the camp chef 28" here and the 36" Blackstone in PA. Blackstone is light years better.

I did not realize that Weber called their griddle a slate, where did you get here? I have a blackstone and camp chef griddle. The only down side to having my grill hooked up to the house is a couple times I got distracted and forgot to shut it off. You won't run out of NG so it keeps going...lol
