I agree. Mine's out of warranty now, but until it gives me problems I see no reason to mess with it.

Milwaukee M12 Stubby (new specs) vs M18 Compact 3/8"

They just came out with a 70 ft/lb version that hasn’t hit any stores around me yet that I’m excited to put some hands on. I love the electric ratchets and I’ve had several brands and are one of my most used tools, but I don’t think any of them ooze superior quality characteristics. I’m...

Colorado Road Trip Routes or Destinations

We’re going to make it to the Black Hills June 18-23 but it’s looking like it will be a motorcycle and SxS trip, no Jeep, unfortunately.

What did you do to your TJ today?

My thoughts exactly, lol! Might still be alive but might be involuntarily engaged in a life long sentence of abstinence!

Colorado Road Trip Routes or Destinations

Maybe a weekend trip, not a week trip, but if you haven't done Hwy 92 (Black Canyon National Forest) between Blue Mesa Reservoir and Hotchkiss, that's one of my favorite motorcycle roads in the state. I usually do a 3 or 4 day weekend every summer on the bike and hit up the San Juan's. In no...

I can appreciate that, and that’s awesome that it works for your needs.

Milwaukee M12 Stubby (new specs) vs M18 Compact 3/8"

I agree with this. I have both the 3/8 compact and 1/2 mid torque and I grab the 1/2 99% of the time. The compact is a good idea in theory, but the reach isn’t far enough and you end up having to use an extension a lot of the times, like on any wheel in existence. Even factory wheels with...

    New Tool Day

Back on topic @John Cooper i did end up buying that Bauer electric cutoff wheel. It’s several times better than the old Chicago Electric one and I’d say also considerably better than my pneumatic with my 60 gallon compressor. It seems to have a variable torque motor, if you’re working it and...

:ROFLMAO: Not any different than any other thread on this forum, derailment seems to be the norm!

    New Tool Day

Still a pretty small sample size compared to the number of trucks on the road. I guess my point is, technology has made these things powerhouses against all odds. If you threw modern emissions on a 12v or 7.3 and put those through the stress of what modern engines endure they’d melt down in...

Which is no fault of the motor. Delete a 6.7 and bring back some sulfur content in the fuel and I’d bet the 6.7 is every bit as reliable as the 7.3 or 12v while producing more than double the power and getting better fuel economy.

    New Tool Day

One of my old work trailers had an electric over hydraulic jack and tilt deck with a remote control. Between the rear camera and the remote you could set the trailer on the ball before even getting out of the truck. It was pretty bad ass.

The cost and emissions on the newer ones is out of hand, but I don’t think you have much of an argument that diesels have been ruined by technology. I’ve owned a ‘94 GM 6.5, 96 Ford 7.3, 02 Cummins, 07 Dmax, 06 Ford 6.0, 11 Ford 6.7 and currently have a 20 Ford 6.7 and you couldn’t give me one...

    Time for a v8 swap

It routes in front of the sump, so under the front portion of the oil pan. Plenty of axle clearance, no worries there, your driveshaft or axle yoke will be the concern that you have to build around with short arm suspension. If you have a different suspension you'll have to build around the...

    Time for a v8 swap

lol, that was over 2 years ago. I just got a builders kit on Amazon with a bunch of bends and set the axle at full bump and went to town. It went surprisingly fast. Probably only an hour of mockup to get to that point.

Most, including myself run 2.5 from the manifold to the Y and 3 after the Y.

Bestop Supertop fit, but I think it's the frame?

At least you got a new top, how's it fit? After a couple of months waiting time between responses, their solution for me is to send me new door surround latches.... Which will just break again since the rest of the frame doesn't fit correctly and puts undo stress on those pins, which is why...

    Basket's Build

They advertise it as countersunk, picture it that way and even the instructions say it should be. I think they’re skimping to get crap out the door. The hardware was laughable. They sent 3” long 3/8” hex grade 5 bolts to bolt both the skids together as well as the supports in the front. The...

    Basket's Build

They will, you’ll just way over pay for the bit, $25 at Ace and $7 at Harbor Freight and are equally as bad of quality, but either will work fine for aluminum. I guess UCF got tired of me hounding them to ship the skid, that said was in stock when I ordered it, for 2 months and didn’t...
