    The Pickle LJ

That is pretty neat. I fought tooth and nail to make sure I had as much up travel in the rear as possible. I ended up moving my rear crossmember and floor up 6" to make room for my truss and links. I also thought about notching the truss for the rear upper links how you plan too, but sadly I got...

    2004 LJ In Flux

See pic below for more context; I wrapped them from the cage to the to the bottom links so they would apply pressure at the corner and force it into the panels. I did the same for the corner armor, but with the straps going the other direction to make sure the corner was as tight as possible. I...

    2004 LJ In Flux

I kind of did the same thing. I used my corner armor to square up my TJ-6 stretch, so it was all kinds of wonky and needed some strong persuasion via a big ass hammer. However, I’ve found that using ratchet straps helps hold things as tight as possible in place.

    2004 LJ In Flux

I know you were asking Klay in particular, but I thought I’d chime in since I’ve installed a couple sets of corner armor and rockers. Although it is possible to install the corner armor with the top on, it’s much easier to get nuts on the backside and achieve the proper reveal on the edge of the...

    2004 LJ In Flux

First draft/ set of the door skins and flak jackets test-fitted. Pretty damn sleek. I decided to try wrapping them in vinyl; it went OK, but I definitely have some things I’m going to try next time I break out the vinyl to do my corner armor. @Fluxor impresses once again. 🤙

    Swiss Cheese a TJ-6 Story

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/how-to-diy-drill-and-tap-your-jl-steering-gear-for-hydro-assist.131098/ I followed this guy’s thread. It wasn’t too bad, I just took my time to make sure I didn’t get metal shards in the box since I didn’t take it apart.

Utah TJFest 2026 May 3rd-8th Sand Hollow

Mind if I tag along? I think I can make it Thursday and Friday. I grew up in St. George and have wheeled most of the trails out there.

    Swiss Cheese a TJ-6 Story

I grew up in St. George and have been on most of the trails out there. I’ll try to make it Thursday and Friday, but I only have so much PTO and already have a few trips planned next year, so I have to balance it.

    Swiss Cheese a TJ-6 Story

Here are some more pics. I weighed the front axle and wrote a paper in my differential equations class on the application of springs in parallel and series, predicting their natural frequency and the critical damping ratio of the suspension system (assuming you omit the shock). I figured there...

Some pics from our Moab trip this last December, plus a few shots playing on the forklift. And peep the custom Milwaukee Packout carrier my fiancée is sitting on.

100 mph in a TJ; have you done it?

Yeah, I started it recently so I don’t have a ton of content, but there are a few pics. https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/swiss-cheese-a-tj-6-story.85665/

100 mph in a TJ; have you done it?

lol, My jeep thinks its had a broken torque converter for the past 55,000 miles and I no longer have any emissions systems on my jeep lol.

100 mph in a TJ; have you done it?

You’re absolutely right, I never really thought about the speed rating on the tire. I’m sure there’s a safety factor built into the rating though- probably at least 1.3 percent—so I bet I could’ve gone 130 before it became a problem. ;)

    The Silver Fox LJ Build

I struggled with them the same way. If it’s rough to get them in, you can tap them with a mallet to line them up left, right, and center better. And as for depth, I’ve found that having them set lower and needing to press the whole hood down with my arm for them to click free is better than...

    The Silver Fox LJ Build

Hopefully you have better luck with hood pins than I’ve had. I got a similar-looking set on Amazon that were anodized black, and they faded after one summer and then grenaded themselves with the little internal springs. I had to buy another set because the holes are already in my hood. The...

100 mph in a TJ; have you done it?

I know this is an old thread, but I remembered I had this pic of my dash when I was going 105+ in my stretched TJ on 40s. I’ve GPS-tested it and my speedo is dead-nuts accurate. Does push high on the revs though. Fastest I’ve gone is somewhere north of 115. I backed out because I was hitting...
