    2004 LJ In Flux

Just finished up the install on the new Flux Boatside Rockers and wanted to share some thoughts now that everything’s buttoned up. I swapped over from my bent GenRight rockers, and this new design is a big step up in a lot of ways. I pieced the install together over the course of a week—mostly...

Never starts first try, loses prime

I al I always wait for the pump to buzz for a second and stop, but even then it’s usually the second or third crank. If possible I’d rather not get rid of my oem pump just wondering if there’s a valve or something that can be replaced on the pump rather than the whole assembly.

Never starts first try, loses prime

For the past 3 years, my Jeep has always started on the second or third crank. It starts first try if it was recently running. I suspect a backflow valve of some sort in the fuel tank, which is why it’s losing prime. I’ve been very lazy getting around to fixing it because my tank’s setup makes...

    Insulation options for hardtop

I insulated my whole tub with the foam backed siless brand from amazon and i don't feel it did much, so I'm thinking a thick layer like the sleeping bag might do the trick for the roof and as for the floor the butle rubber would probably have worked better Amazon Sound-Deadening-Foam I'm also...

    New wheels for LJ

I ran 17x9 -18mm and 4.75" backspacing Method Race Wheels for a long time. I ran 12.5" 33 BFGs with factory fenders and didn’t rub. I then ran the same wheels and 35" 12.5-wide BFGs with highlines and only rubbed on my front sway bar. I had a 2" lift on both setups. The scrub radius was...

    New wheels for LJ

I've always had Walmart do my tires they are ridiculously cheap and don't care what you bring them. I’ve had them mount and dismount countless tires I bought off Facebook. I’m not sure if that’s convenient or local for you, but it might be worth checking out.

That would be a fun project, but I’ve invested so much time and effort into this tub that I don’t think I could ever let it go. When I have some time, I’m planning to write up a build thread. The rear section of my tub is stretched 15" to fit my 40" spare tire just behind the seats. It’s all...

Doing It The Hard Way - JL Steering Box and a Front Stretch

HI @carrotman, I just wanted to say thank you! I recently created my account, but I’ve been following your JL steering box swap thread for several months now. Thanks to your detailed work and pioneering, I was able to do a similar swap myself. I used a Motobilt front half kit, frenched the...

    2004 LJ In Flux

That’s my Jeep! I bought those rockers years ago when I was 16, not realizing the kind of trails I’d end up wheeling on. Thankfully, I only paid $900 for them at the time. I never wanted to cut the rockers to fit the TJ wheelbase because chopping them down to the stock length seemed so daunting...
