OEM Fog Light Bracket (Hella 2004-2006)

Thanks John. Very cool of you to do that for your friend and then post it here for us.

Disappearing coolant, but there's no visable leak

Did you go with a Mopar radiator or an all aluminum one? Some of those all aluminum radiators leak right from the factory. I'd check over that new radiator very carefully. You might have a bad radiator.

Front track bar: Currie or JKS?

I never did figure out a good replacement for the stock rear bushing. Its still something I need to figure out.

Dual rate springs: JKS JSPEC dual rate versus Metalcloak dual rate

I completely agree, they are insignificant compared to a good shock tune. I've never said otherwise. I've only said differences exist. As stated above, there is a disconnect here somewhere. Whether it is in my understanding or in my ability to verbalize what I'm trying to say, I don't know...

Dual rate springs: JKS JSPEC dual rate versus Metalcloak dual rate

So... without any shocks installed, you don't think you would feel a soft spring compress further or hit a bumpstop harder than a stiff spring? Using real life, off the shelf, rear coils, follow this example. Take an OME 2996 spring, rated at 250lbs and compare it to an OME 941 rated at 140lbs...

Jeeperman Tire Carrier Rattle & Sliders question

I have the Jeeperman sliderz with a 1" tummy tuck. Its not terrible, but I too hope to raise them up some day.

    Tire carrier for better visibility?

Something like the Terraflex might work for you, but you also need a bumper that allows for the tire to drop lower. EDIT: The rugged ridge is pretty similar to the Teraflex. You might need a different bumper for a 33. I'm not sure.

I want to buy your LJ

When I was out in Colorado last summer I had someone leave a note on my LJ asking me to give them a call if I ever wanted to sell it. It seemed honest and since. I kept the note in case I ever do want to sell it. Money talks...

Dual rate springs: JKS JSPEC dual rate versus Metalcloak dual rate

Why stop at a truck spring and not use train springs for your example? This all gets into theoretical. I think its obvious a spring that heavy would affect ride quality. It would also fall out every time you flexed because it would have to be that short to give you the desired ride height...

Dual rate springs: JKS JSPEC dual rate versus Metalcloak dual rate

I'm not sure I follow where your going. Please elaborate.

Dual rate springs: JKS JSPEC dual rate versus Metalcloak dual rate

The JKS front coils are 150/220 the rear coils are 190/240. So a 70lb difference in front and a 50lb difference in the rear. For whatever its worth... It maybe doesn't matter in regards to handling. But that extra 50lbs per spring (x2) gives an extra 100lbs per inch of carrying weight when I...

Dual rate springs: JKS JSPEC dual rate versus Metalcloak dual rate

As I understand it, different windings will effectively give a different rate. Its a matter of leverage and the length of rod used to make the coil. You can easily test it by compressing the spring. The tighter wound coils will compress under less weight than the further space out coils...

Dual rate springs: JKS JSPEC dual rate versus Metalcloak dual rate

That may just be poorly worded on my part. The tuner wouldn't need to know what the rate is. The rate is whatever it is. I would expect the tuner would be more concerned about vehicle weight and performance requirements. I've never tuned a shock so correct me if I'm wrong.

Dual rate springs: JKS JSPEC dual rate versus Metalcloak dual rate

Oh yeah, I agree fully. I'm not saying that spring rates should be used to determine your ride. They are a small part of how a jeep will ride. Shocks by far play a bigger role in ride and handling. I also agree that a custom tuner can work with any spring rate to dial in what they are...

Dual rate springs: JKS JSPEC dual rate versus Metalcloak dual rate

I think shock tuners do care about spring rate. They might not be looking at the numbers. They might not even be thinking about spring rates, but the rate of the spring is going to affect how a vehicle behaves. A softer spring is going to handle a load differently than a stiffer spring. How...

Dual rate springs: JKS JSPEC dual rate versus Metalcloak dual rate

I am running the JKS 3" with a 1" body lift. That setup fits 285/75R16 very well. For shocks I am running Bilstein 24-185264 and Bilstein 24-185257. I believe I am running approximately 2" of bumpstop in both front and rear. Which works well with both shocks and tire rub. I have been...

    Rear shock recommendations?

I have used the airlift on my pathfinder and it works well to help support weight. I have not used it in a jeep. I think its a good place to start if you need to carry more weight. How much does your Jeep sag under the load? How do your shocks handle the jeep when empty? They might just be...

    Has anyone replaced seat foam?

Nice that you were able to sit in them. That is one of my biggest hold ups. Let us know your base solution when you get them in.

    Has anyone replaced seat foam?

How do you like the PRP seats. I've been needing new foam for years. But like others have noted, the seats themselves are in great shape. So last year I installed some new foam over my old foam. It helped, but I keep eyeing the PRP seats.

    Utah TJ Fest 2022

Chris thanks for sending out the PM reminder. I had completely forgotten about TJFest. I'll have to see if I can make this work somehow. I'd still love to join in on this.
