High idle in park & neutral. RPM's jump when going over bumps.

Did you inspect the hard plastic HVAC line from the intake elbow to the firewall? Mine had worn through where it passed behind the PCM on the way to the reservoir. It has two one way check valves that need to be considered if your smoking this line. I also want to correct the statement above...

High idle in park & neutral. RPM's jump when going over bumps.

The key point is if it’s happening before the MAP sensor, it’s not unmetered air.

High idle in park & neutral. RPM's jump when going over bumps.

Im afraid you’re going to need to keep looking. The throttle shaft leak is above the MAP sensor and will have a lesser affect than what your experiencing. The MAP sensor is blind to air infiltration downstream of it. That’s where you should be looking.

High idle in park & neutral. RPM's jump when going over bumps.

Your hvac door actuators are vacuum operated. If you lose air out of your vent, it’s defaulting to the defrost mode because you have a vacuum leak. Two common sources are the elbow on intake below the throttle body which is the source for the HVAC vacuum as well as below the battery there is a...

    Turbo Kit Test TJ

Should start your own thread as not to derail Jezza's. Not trying to step on your tuners toes and I haven't seen your tune so I don't know what values are being inputted to match the MAP sensor you're trying to use, but MAP linear, Map Offset values are there as well as MAP and Baro under the...

    Turbo Kit Test TJ

Couple other questions are you back probing the electrical connector of the Map sensor and reading the signal Are you tuning via HPT? Ok big difference in info. That’s good that the Map sensor is reporting varying values. If you back probed the map sensor connector you should see varying...

    Turbo Kit Test TJ

Before you spend a lot of money on a PCM and new license, do the MAP values change as you drive? Baro and Map are related and read by the same sensor but have different purposes in the tune. If the Map varies ( which it should), the sensor could be ok but the scaling or calibration values for...

    Turbo Kit Test TJ

Do you mean not changing from 95kpa day to day? What does it read key on engine off? Is MAP values reporting correctly?

Salvage title due to finger ding? What am I missing?

That biohazard sticker and back seat look like Dirty Mike and the Boys used it for a Soup Kitchen. Something to consider when buying.

What relies on the VSS output?

The VSS tells the PCM when to transition to idle, which also affects spark and fueling. Depending on the year this may or may not be mapped out in HPT.

Throttle position sensor voltage reading + MPVI3

You might be slightly low but not significantly. If you log the Throttle Position % channel in VCM it also will likely show that you are roughly receiving 75% at WOT. I don’t have access to HPT at the moment but IIRC the throttle position voltage reading in the VCM scanner is voltage learned...

Post ODBA replacement cylinder 1 misfire (reoccurring every 150 miles)

Exactly. Bringing the difference to as close to zero or performing a crank relearn is where I’d start.

Post ODBA replacement cylinder 1 misfire (reoccurring every 150 miles)

What brand did the shop replace the OPDA and crank sensor with? Also do you have access to a scanner that will show the learned difference between cam/crank?

That’s what I was thinking. Sounds like a good problem to have!

Rear wheel well liners: keep or remove?

You can buy it in black and use it without a top coat if you want.

Rear wheel well liners: keep or remove?

I use a can due to the limited quantity needed. Here’s a can from Norton that a my supplier carries. I believe I used 3M’s version on the TJ. This one works well also.

Flowmaster Pre-Cats (oil pan clearance advice)

Don’t know if these are of value or not because our setup is different. Oem precats. Dims are marked at the tightest punch points as a reference so I can see if anything has moved. Seals solid with clearance.

    LJ, Turbos, Supercharger And More

Tuning wasn’t bad. My particular PCM firmware was slightly different than later built ‘05’s and 06 so it had an inherent quirk that I needed help with. Once over that hurdle it was fairly straightforward to get it dialed in using HPTuners. I believe RSI is also offering tuning packages now...
