I'd like to see people try to wheel on that.

What is the coolest car or truck you have ridden in

In 2014 my wife and I took a trip to Peru and stopped to visit people in the way. We met my old college roommate during a long layover in Ft Lauderdale and he let me drive his V10 Audi R8. (Stock photo, his was black but that doesn't show as well in pictures) Then on the way back we had a...

Rear shock relocation options (besides outboard)

I do. He should be able to get the same height, but it'll be a little trickier to install with less room up there. it's definitely not doing him any favors.

Rear shock relocation options (besides outboard)

With a few inexpensive fasteners from the parts store you can put the bar pin above the crossmember instead of below it and get about 3/4". Details are fairly recent in my build thread.

    Adventures with ACC carpet kits

or, along similar lines, if ACC has two sets of quality checks - the units that fit the stricter set gets sold direct, and the ones that meet a lower standard goes to RA. What's amazing to me is it shouldn't be hard. Just take the factory carpet out of a TJ and make a pattern to match it.

Custom microprocessor (Arduino, Pi, etc) Jeep project thread

Frustrating day. Not much actual progress other than just eliminating reasons why I'm not getting a continuous data stream from the PCM. I get responses to the first 9 polls I make (after the initialization commands and the automatic first poll of PID 00 which returns the first group of...

Sab-a-dab-a-doo! The back-country LJ build has officially started

Hopefully not the 85 yo you built the stair rail for! 🤣

Custom microprocessor (Arduino, Pi, etc) Jeep project thread

It's connecting, and it pulls data, but only for a few seconds and then the ELM stops responding and it doesn't update again. I don't plan on using TPS but it makes for easy troubleshooting because I can change the value sitting in the garage without driving or even starting the engine. If...

Custom microprocessor (Arduino, Pi, etc) Jeep project thread

Spent this morning figuring out how to use this display (Values are just placeholders). Then spent way too much time this afternoon trying to figure out why the sketch that worked perfectly on the Uno R3 kept locking up the Nano ESP32 in a boot loop. At one point it got so bad even the...

Why is low testosterone so prevalent in young males

could very well be the inflammatory diet we got sold decades ago with the food pyramid. Much of our produce and almost all of our grains are saturated in glyphosate, and if you believe what the carnivores say, vegetables are full of stuff they evolved to deter animals from eating them and we...

    Mini Jeep

there seem to be different versions of these things, I don't know how different they are but there are cues like the bars around the back of the tub, rear fender flares. Both seem to appear both with the more Jeep like vertical slots as well as the rectangular mesh grill. Both are Chinese...

Why is low testosterone so prevalent in young males

One of the specific theories I've heard repeated recently is that our bodies use cholesterol to make testosterone, and our diets have been engineered to lower cholesterol to avoid heart disease. Along with that it was claimed that the relationship between cholesterol and heart disease is turning...

Custom microprocessor (Arduino, Pi, etc) Jeep project thread

I was highly overoptimistic about the idea of soldering into a commercially manufactured board. Turns out the OBD2 to rs232 scanner I got uses the small version of the chip so the pins are on a 1.27mm pitch instead of the 2.54mm that hobby parts use. There's not a snowballs chance in hell I'll...

Custom microprocessor (Arduino, Pi, etc) Jeep project thread

i don't know why that didn't come up when I was searching before. The ELM327 only entered the chat because I couldn't find enough to go directly to the bus. The solution you post will work for Uno (probably R3 and before) and Mega boards. Now that it seems I could use an Uno for this project...

Custom microprocessor (Arduino, Pi, etc) Jeep project thread

just something I found - I was thinking about going ahead and using bluetooth for the ECT control and then falling back on LCT control (which only requires local sensors) if the comms failed. It would save me a bit of wiring and not have to get into the vehicle harness at all, but Bluetooth has...

Are these Rough Country control arms any good or should I steer clear of them?

if they were the right brand and the right price I wouldn't think twice about grabbing some used arms.

I'm really glad you posted all of this, and THANK YOU. But the first line in this table is particularly interesting because it suggests the 122Hz I could get with the Arduino Uno R3 (or any ATmega328P board)....and possibly even the default 490Hz, would have been perfectly fine....at least for...

Are these Rough Country control arms any good or should I steer clear of them?

I wouldn't mess with anything that had anything except a Johnny Joint, unless you wheel east of the Rockies and have more clay in your soil (like me) and then would use a DDB like Synergy or the Girro. Clevites are good in stock arms, and I've had success using them in aftermarket arms with a...
