    Vanco 16" Caliper Replacement

New caliper is on and all is right with the world. Kit is not really that hard to put on. It was just amateur hour over here for a few days. The only tip I'll give others is don't do this in a gravel driveway. I feel like a muscle car guy now. Except instead of showing off by doing a burn...

    Vanco 16" Caliper Replacement

I recently installed the Vanco 16" brake kit. I had issues bleeding it and assumed I bench bled it wrong. After a few shots of that using the plugged method I found a leak at the metal line on the passenger side. The fittings were super rusty so I ordered all new metal lines. Those are now...

    Master Cylinder Thread Size

I've seen this question asked in a few places but haven't seen a definite answer. What size threads is the front (larger) line into the brake master cylinder? My master cylinder came with two plugs but they are both the smaller size. So I need a plug or adapter for the front port so I can...

    Rear extended brake line

Thanks for the follow up Jerry. That's what I figured. It just threw me off that my local O'Reilly and Advance only stock the extended ones. That's why I searched here to see what the heck I was missing.

    Rear extended brake line

I know this is an older thread but I'm confused on why the extended hoses are even offered for the rear. I see that the parts stores offer them for lifted suspension or standard. Since the hose goes from the caliper to a fixed spot on the axle I'm trying to figure out why they have the...

Want to install lockers but not sure what to order

When I built my TJ I was living in Indiana and built it to handle the snow. I went with Detroit Trutracs in the front and rear. After I put them in, it did better in the snow in 2wd than it did in 4wd with the stock setup. I took it to a few off-road parks and it handled everything I threw at...

Looking for a good sounding exhaust

X2 on the Flowmaster. I had a Super 44 put on and I have been really happy with it. It’s never going to sound like a V-8, but sounds really good.

    Help With Steering Play

I’m sure there are several good write ups on here if you search. Short version is you jack up the front end, turn the screw in until there is resistance, and then back it off 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn.

    Help With Steering Play

From what I’ve seen it doesn’t matter if it’s new or reman. Half the replacement gear boxes just suck. I’ve had to adjust them out of the box. It technically voids the warranty but only if you admit you did it. If you do it wrong though you will cause the gear box to wear out faster.

Vanco 16” big brake kit from Black Magic Brakes

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve been wanting to upgrade to it for years but just haven’t had the money. Front caliper just locked up though and can’t justify throwing more stock parts at it.

Thanks. I sent an email to ask. The website said that was the best way to reach him. I figure he probably gets tons of calls.

Vanco 16” big brake kit from Black Magic Brakes

I know this thread is a year old, but I wondered what shipping you chose? There is a $130 difference between flat rate and UPS shipping. I am just wondering how much time difference there is. Also, I remember reading a while back about a discount for forum members. Are they still doing that?
