Update: a 10 min soak with 75% strength and good flush both directions made a major improvement. It won't melt my face but it's good solid heat. Totally happy with it. Thanks a bunch everyone!

I'm having this exact same issue with the heat at higher fan speeds and the fan not working at speed 3. I've flushed my core. Someone reccomend on another thread to fill it with CLR let it sit 30 min and flush it again. Haven't tried that yet and its 2 degrees here lol

No I hadn't tried that. I just ran water until the junk was gone and the water ran clear.

I should probably clarify... from what I've read, the hole in the thermostat flange at 12 o'clock serves as an air escape route. From looking at it, it gives me the impression that the hole in question would allow more coolant to the heater core, so in sub zero temps if the thermostat isnt open...

My heater core hoses are plenty warm. Would it be possible that the temperature dial in the dash is screwy? I really am out of ideas.

I'm having this same problem although generally luke warm is the best I get. New thermostat, coolant, water pump, heater box actuator. Earlier today I got decent heat then it got cool again.

I am having this same issue. I've only owned my jeep about a month. The previous owner, a close friend, said hes never had heat really. New water pump, thermostat, coolant, flushed the heater core, new heater box actuator. Luke warm most times yet earlier today it was putting out decent heat.
