I had a 10 JK and going up the slightest hill and that Jeep slowed to a crawl. On the highway, hit same said hill and expect pissed drivers passing you giving you "the look" not understanding that you got the pedal on the floor. Got a 06 LJ now and that feels like a Porsche compared to the JK...

So took a sample and pics to a mechanic and he's sure that its ATF. There isn't any more leaking out but it's been alot warmer out. What I dont know where the leak is. That may have to wait till spring. Thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions!

I haven't. Got to put the battery back in and start er up. If this freezing rain ever stops, I'll run it but pretty sure its trans fluid.

First, thank you for your service! Horrifying what ice can do! I can rule out anti freeze. Put in a new radiator in late summer with pre mixed stuff so I couldn't mess it up. Really starting to look like it might be Trans Fluid.

I had cleaned this up but had some in a baggy. I took it to a parts store this morning (not a chain) and he took a sniff and said ATF. The evidence is starting to mount. Now, we need a motive. LOL

I'll check those while I'm down there. I just had two tranny cooler lines replaced last spring. Really hope that not it. Did yours leak that much out?

Yep. Only room for one car there. It was pretty oily.

I'll have to crawl under there to take a better look when the weather is a little better. Seems like the leaking is done. There was quite a bit. That's for the direction and a place to start!
