Have you checked Car-Part? Don't quote me, but 97-01 Cherokees and 95-98 (?) Grand Cherokees should work for a TJ - although you said you've got a 249, so is this for a GC?

I'm in the same boat. Purchased a engine gasket set and have these 4 or 5 o-rings and no idea where they go. Anyone know? Google is giving me no results. Even called Felpro and was given incorrect info.

I'm replacing the u joints on the front axle shafts (Dana 30). And I'm having trouble getting the fourth C clip seated properly. I'm using Spicer 5760Xs. It looks like one of the ears on the shaft is bent in. Is this normal? Am I just screwing this up somehow? All the needles seem to be still...

Cheers. Turns out I misunderstood. He has a 6 speed and was trying to put it in. So now it's a 4.0 from a 5 speed, either a 2004 or 05. Does that change anything?
