Yeah that's what I was thinking I'm going to mess with it this evening but the speedometer sensor does not seem to fit into the transfer case very well is it supposed to go flush or just up to the o-ring

Had a few delays my son came in from out of town. Once I installed the spring back on the shift fork everything works fine. I'll still do not know how that spring could have come off when I reassembled the first time but oh well lesson learned. Now if I can only get the speedometer to work again LOL

After splitting the case I found the spring for the shifter fork had somehow come off when I reassembled and was laying in the bottom stick to the magnet. Getting ready to reassemble keeping my fingers crossed LOL

I have the Jeep up on jack stands. Both drive shafts are installed. When I spend the rear drive shaft by hand the front and rear tires both spin. So that is four wheel drive am I not correct

Absolutely positive we have shifted it to two wheel high with the lever on the side of the transfer case it will not go any further and it is still in four-wheel drive so it has to be something in the transfer case but what I don't know LOL

I cannot order the case until Monday from dead jeeps.com so tomorrow I am going to pull the transfer case and bust it open again and see if there is anything obviously did wrong. The transfer case does not look complicated to me. Does anyone have any experience inside of these cases np231

And when I jack the rear end up so the wheels are not on the ground put it in drive the front wheels are trying to pull it off of the jack so it is definitely in four wheel high

And Andy g you say get it diagnosed but I have no idea where to take it to get it diagnosed I'm out in the country there is no shop around here for miles and miles so it have to drive it there which I can't do in four wheel drive on pavement. So to have it towed to a shop would cost me $150 and...

No I put it in two wheel high and turn it around on gravel and you can definitely tell it is in four wheel drive

I guess I will just order another transfer case since I have no idea what the problem is
