    Hard start after driving

Thanks for the replies. I don't know for sure if my year has the heat soak issue, but i did put heat insulation on the #3 injector and also the full length of the fuel rail. The problem seems to go away after it sits overnight.

    Hard start after driving

Good evening All. My 97 4.0 has an issue I can't seem to find a solution to. When it is cold it starts right up, no muss no fuss. After driving it and stopping for a little while it will not start right away. It will crank for 6-10 seconds before lighting off. If I just bump the key to turn...

Random cylinder misfires on 2000 TJ 4.0

I just got through chasing a misfire on every cylinder and had to take it to a shop as I was out of ideas. They replaced the plugs with double platinum 985's, new plug wires and adjusted the timing (it was off). They also fixed the clock spring for the horn (which believe it or not I have read...

    The (apparently) dreaded misfire

Was reading through some threads tonight and found some talking about the clock spring creating issues with the TPS and causing idling and misfire problems. Curious what y'all might think. The horn on my jeep does not work and I'm assuming it's the spring but haven't gotten to that yet.

    The (apparently) dreaded misfire

I did I did try moving the distributor slightly while it was running but there was no change in the way the engine ran. The odo says 207k but I have no idea if the engine really has those on it.

    The (apparently) dreaded misfire

Hello all. I'm running the copper 985's. When I changed out the old plugs to these there was zero change in the quality of idle/misfire issue. I drove it some tonight. I can take it down the highway and run it past 4k, although you can feel it isn't right. Went by a shop tonight that was...

Probably won't change it but it's free and easy to try so can't hurt.

Thanks for the link about resetting the PCM. I will do that this evening and see if it yields results.

The camshaft sensor has been replaced, but once again it is a non OE part so.... Thanks for the reply!

    The (apparently) dreaded misfire

Definitely will. The plugs that were in it were the weird triple electrode type but changing for the correct ones didn't change anything, but those things needed to come out anyway!
