    Beware of falling boats!

You know it’s a bad day when you walk out and find a canoe laying across your hood! The strap broke, and the canoe bounced off the windshield, cracking it before putting a big dent in the hood. The load path of the canoe suspension system was good, it was a little plastic strap retainer that...

Post pictures of your white TJ

The previous owner set it up as shown with 35” Mastercraft and a 4” Rubicon Express lift. The CA bushings were worn and there was some sag in the coils, so I’ve since done a refresh of everything. Currie 4” coils, Rancho shocks, MC adjustable arms, new 15” Boulder wheels, Cooper STT Pros...

What do you love and hate about your local wheeling spots?

LOVE: living in an area with mountains, woods, scenery, and lots of off-roading options. HATE: cleaning up after a day in the mud holes. And the litter. And the side-by-sides. And having to work all the time.

What do you think of my new Boulders?

I was getting to the point of thinking about new tires and decided to go ahead and replace my Moabs with 15” wheels so I could get C-rated tires. I decided on these Mammoth Boulders back in June and ordered them. They were on back order and just came in this week. I wrapped them with 35x12.5x15...

Tennessee Off to wind rock this week

Forgot to mention Nemo, which is an abandoned train tunnel outside Wartburg for those following this thread. Very cool to ride, worth the drive out there, but there’s really nothing else there to ride unless you go into Catoosa WMA. So it’s not an all day event by any means.

Tennessee Off to wind rock this week

The windmills and overlook are a gimme, asphalt most of the way. The only trails I know of to the train are posted atv only. You can get most of the way to brushy mountain prison via trail 43, then it’s a couple of miles on Hwy 116. There’s a restaurant at the prison along with a couple other...

    A 6-wheel Rubi

I’m guessing not. When I saw it, that’s what I wondered as well. But I suspect that third axle is there only to support the extension. I think someone wanted third row seating and turned a Jeep into a Suburban.

    A 6-wheel Rubi

One of my local Jeep clubs posted this photo from a ride this past weekend. Anyone ever seen one of these? Didn’t know this was a thing. I know nothing about it, just posting for your viewing pleasure.

    White Christmas

We in east TN got a white Christmas this year, apparently for only about the 7th time in the past 100 years for this area! We took a drive to the Smoky Mountains to get a better look, but the park had the major roads through it closed.

    15” vs 17” wheels

I installed the BMB brake pads but do still have the stock calipers. So I guess I’m somewhere between stock and a full brake replacement.

    15” vs 17” wheels

My 35" MT tires are getting worn, and I'm considering changing from my stock 16" Moab wheels to a 15" just to have some choices for C rated tires.
