    2005 TJ Starts Occasionally

You can measure Ohms resistance of the internal coil windings of the relay (pins 85&86); the maximum Ohms should be approximately 70. IF the Ohms across the windings are much more the relay may or may not engage properly. I would also check the relay pins and socket clips for oxidation which...

TJ Hood To Cowl Panel Weatherstrip Options

Could not locate an OEM seal for the TJ so I purchased an OMIX-ADA replacement (55174640AE) which appeared to be better quality than the Crown part (I previously ordered and returned). I checked my maintenance log; the removed part was 50" and the installed part was 66".

If you have the factory distributorless ignition using the long coil bar that snaps onto the plugs and the coil bar is bolted to the head; you remove the coil bar, there is a pig tail that connects to the factory wiring harness and then to the Viper ignition coil block. The spark plug wires go...

06 Rubicon - back to the forest we go, but first…

I believe the steering components that Nevada72 was referring to is the 1998 Jeep ZJ V8 steering components which are much cheaper than the Currie steering components and much more heavy duty that the stock TJ steering components. There is reference to the Moog ZJ steering components in the How...

    Golen stroker 4.6 misfire

Is this the Viper coil and spark plug wire conversion ? IF so... the coil spark plug wires can be problematic with bad internal connections. When I did the conversion; the pigtail that goes from the factory connector to the Viper coil pack was wired incorrectly causing a constant misfire. I...

IF you have an automatic transmission; you can test the engine mounts by placing the transmission in D, hold the brake and apply a little bit of gas pedal. IF the engine tilts too much then the engine mount rubber is separating and the mounts need to be replaced. I would inspect the transmission...

If you find a hair line crack where the bung attaches to the pan; you can have the surrounding area of the bung either brazed or tig welded. If there is a hair line crack in the bung threads; that may require the replacement of the bung or purchasing a new pan. Yes… if there is debris in the...

    Transmission drain plug leaking

I would inspect the threaded bung that the drain plug screws into with a bright light looking for hair line cracks where the bung attaches to the pan and also look for burrs or debris in the threads of the bung which can cause slow drip you are describing. What do the threads of the drain plug...
