Standard trans swapped to 700R. Help!!

I purchased a 2006 TJ with a 700R with a Novak shifter. Need to get the reverse lights working. What to do? There are two wires coming out of the side of the 700R trans that I am assuming is a reverse solenoid? I can't locate any wires that were attached to the stock shifter. Can I find the...

    12:1 vs 15:1 steering box

I am thinking about taking out the PSC ram on my 06 TJ due to extremely sensitive steering. Extreme as in undrivable on pavement. Recently purchased the Jeep with a 4 in Clayton lift a rockjock and 33s. Took it to the shop for their advice. The caster is set at +7 per PSC spec. Their suggestion...

Is this a gutted 42RLE out of an 06 TJ?

This is what I found when I crawled under there. That’s not a 10 day old trans pan gasket.

Is this a gutted 42RLE out of an 06 TJ?

The shop I took my TJ to says they rebuilt my trans however 10 days later the linkage fell off end when I crawled under to reconnect I swear it’s used. Are these pics really of the innards of a 42RLE? These are the text pictures the shop sent me while the rebuild was supposedly in process.

    2006 Wrangler 4.0 42RLE getting P1775 and P1776 (not P1603 and P1604)

I am getting a random P1775 and P1776 on my - 2006 4.0 Auto trans (non-rubicon). When I clear the codes I can drive for up to 150 miles or more before it kicks on again and the jeep goes into limp mode. I can pull over, turn it off, re-start and I'm on my way for an undetermined amount of...

Code P1776 on 2006 TJ (need to pass CA smog)

I called Jeep Care in Huntington Beach because they are highly recommended and they are booked till November. Jeeps R Us is a general auto repair. They specialize in building jeeps but that is not their repair focus.

Code P1776 on 2006 TJ (need to pass CA smog)

is he in CA? I think I am just going to put in a rebuilt PCM and see what happens. Its cheaper than a trans. About $800. I checked all of the connectors. They are all good. My problem is not hard shift. Mine is that it goes into limp mode, then I go out the next day and the light is off and I...

Code P1776 on 2006 TJ (need to pass CA smog)

Also, just a follow up on this. My jeep does fine but as I feel the floorboard get hot I see a bump on the temperature gage go up and then it goes into limp mode. Does anyone think putting in a transmission cooler would solve this problem or am I still stuck with the TCM or solenoid problem...

Code P1776 on 2006 TJ (need to pass CA smog)

Looks like it’s going to be a PCM. I bought it knowing I would be dishing out the $$ for smog I just don’t want to be tossing parts needlessly. Parts changers are expensive. I need to find a good shop in OC, CA to do a full diagnosis.

Code P1776 on 2006 TJ (need to pass CA smog)

Oh it’s Jeep number 6 but first 06 TJ. My last TJ was a very kind 97 that purred like a kitten till the rear end gave out. The priors were CJs and 70-80s full size Cherokees that I wish I had never sold.

Code P1776 on 2006 TJ (need to pass CA smog)

Check engine light comes on at will, 10 miles or 1000 miles. Of course going into smog shop it comes on. I’ve heard PCM/ECM, trans temp sensor, solinoid, trans flush, spedo gear, etc. I would like to fix this without tossing an entire auto parts store under the hood. Any help would be appreciated.
