Heater fan relay always has power

I understand, but with no key in the ignition, I can turn the fan on and it runs. I don’t understand why the relay is closed when the battery is connected. I have determined that the relay being activated in my parasitic draw on the battery.

Heater fan relay always has power

I have a 2001 TJ se. The relay for the heater/ac (located in the glove box) is always powered, even with key removed. I have removed the relay and there appears to be a jump between the 86 and 87 pins on the socket. Is that jumper supposed to be there? Or what else would keep power constantly...

    Am I being selfish?

When I went to look at my new for me TJ, I had to pop it out of gear. The guy at the house did not know how to drive manual and could not move the jeep. I got it out and for a great price. Now it's time to fix it up so my own children are not in the same boat...or Jeep as it may be.

    Which Jeep would you buy?

I was looking for an early CJ, but came across a very solid TJ. And after reading these replies, looks like I made a good decision. My last jeep was a 93 Yj and years ago a VW Thing.
