What did you do to your TJ today?

I ordered new nutserts and the tool from @mrblaine. I would have done a DIY tool, but didn't have a bearing lying around and didn't want any excuse to screw it up. I noticed the bolts had blue threadlocker applied, which might have contributed to the problem. I cleaned them off and used...

    Valeo heater core discontinued

Gold? Ewwwww gaudy. No really, the smell is pretty strong.

    Valeo heater core discontinued

I considered that one. But I read comments that the heat output wasn't the best.

    Valeo heater core discontinued

Yes, the Performance Radiator produces the same or better heat than OEM. The only thing different is the smell of the new core when using the heat. Better than smelling coolant like before, but something about the new core smells...different.

What did you do to your TJ today?

I cut my first bolt off today! The transmission skid had a spinning nutsert and I couldn't get it to cooperate. I used my reciprocating saw with a metal blade and it worked great. Now I have the Savvy shifter cable installed and a new nutsert and bolt in place!

Okay, Fess Up. Who Has Named Their Jeep? (And What Is It?)

My LJ is Kate, named after the previous owner. Since you all know what a red LJ looks like, I'll just show the previous owner.

What brand of heater core should I go with?

I saw from a couple others that the brass was awesome, but didn't blow as hot as the OEM core. So yours is hot? When my cheap one fails in a few years maybe I'll give Brassworks another look.

    Valeo heater core discontinued

When I needed mine a few months ago, I called them to see when they would have stock. Surprisingly, he did have one at his Texas store and offered to ship it for free to me, and at a better price than the website showed. Call them.

Anyone got a lead on a Mopar heater core?

I tried to find a Mopar core for a few months, and although many parts distributors listed them as "in stock", they were not. Some told me maybe the end of the year they would have more, but who knows. I decided to try Performance Radiator, and it was oddly the cheapest option. I almost went...

    Derale transmission cooler line leaking

Hadn't considered that. That cooler has maybe 5k miles on it after 7 years, and it lives in my garage so no weather extremes. No cracking or anything going on that I can see.

Show me how you mounted Sound Ordnance B-8PTD powered sub please - any in console?

Mine is under the rear seat, not even mounted. The seat rests on it and holds it in place just fine. Is that bad?

Apple Air Tag for Theft Recovery

An interesting theft test someone did, and the results: It seems the thief will be notified on their iPhone, if they have one, when they get home or at the end of the day, that a foreign Apple Tag has been travelling with them. Then they can play a sound on it.

    Derale transmission cooler line leaking

Installed the 20561 kit 7 years ago and it's worked well. However, now the custom U-shaped joint in the return line is leaking. Derale tells me they do not sell this piece outside the kit. Maybe try cutting the clamp off and re-clamping with a tension clamp?

Best spot to wire a remote wire for amp?

Your amp will need: inputs (speaker or line level) from the head unit remote turn on wire from the head unit (can be small) 12V positive wire directly from the battery (check amperage requirements for thickness/gauge) negative ground wire (probably same gauge as the positive). I ran my...

    Heater Core Replacement Suggestions?

Oh interesting, I hadn't seen an informed opinion on the Brassworks. I guess the good thing is the longevity of brass, but sounds like heat output isn't the best.
