Anyone have any experience with the Quadratec Q9000 winch?

Hi all! My wife recently bought a '16 JKU that came with a Quadratec branded Q9000 winch on it. It seems to be a basic affair with a cable that seems to be in nearly new shape. The long and short of it was that she didn't really want the winch to begin with (grocery getter), and had me take it...

    Great Sand Dunes National Park

Thanks for the comments all! If you have the opportunity, I'd definitely recommend you take the trip. There vistas are wonderful! I don't think you can drive on the dunes, but there were plenty of people on boards playing. I'll probably give it a try if I make it back out there.

    Great Sand Dunes National Park

Yeah, we stayed the night in Alamosa that evening! Next time I'm through, I'm told I need to get over to Zapata Falls as well. Hear it's a good trail.

    Great Sand Dunes National Park

We took the trail following Medano Pass into the park, and had a blast. Regretfully, I didn't get a lot of pics, but the ones I got were fantastic. I'm still working on picking up a DSLR and maybe a dashcam to help capture more in the future.

The "I've finally decided to start the build" build

Speaking of getting on some trails, I took these on a recent trip down to Great Sand Dunes National Park a few weeks ago. I've got a great submission waiting for the November ride of the month when the thread gets going! Here's some early tastes though! It was a gorgeous trip, and had a...

The "I've finally decided to start the build" build

The rain was one of the reasons I waited until the early spring to paint it. With April or May in Arkansas, you can just about guarantee it'll rain several times during the week. Since I abhor the idea of buffing a black vehicle because of the swirls it will leave, I wanted to make sure that I...

The "I've finally decided to start the build" build

Thanks, Chris! Truth be told, I'm supposed to be a 4th gen autobody guy instead of an IT guy. From jr high up through my mid 20's it's what I did for a living. The latter years I got to play with frame straightening and suspension work too! Dad's shop is at his home since he's retired now, and...

The "I've finally decided to start the build" build

I’m back!! Since April I have been traveling all over the nation for both work and fun! I’ve been South Dakota, Florida, Utah, Nevada, and Arkansas 3 separate times. Not to mention the various trips I’ve taken in the Jeep around the state of Colorado. In all of this, I’ve driven all of these...

Roadtrip with older Jeep Wrangler: Should I be concerned?

Congrats on the '04! I've got an '04 Sport that has been everywhere with me since I've had it! Just keep it maintained, and life is great!

Game of Thrones: The Final Season

I've read them several times, and I'm thankful for the show finally giving me some closure even if divergent from some of the book themes. I've been waiting since 2011 for The Winds of Winter, and have completely given up on A Dream of Spring. GRRM is a fun writer, but not that reliable. I've...

The "I've finally decided to start the build" build

It's been kinda quiet on the jeep parts buying front lately as I've been getting ready for a trip back to my home state of Arkansas to accomplish two things... lots of fishing, and painting various parts of my Jeep. The left front fender has a couple of places where the paint was lifting, while...

    Suggestions on an aggressive hood?

As long as his name isn't on the title, what're you worried with? If you like and want the hood, fine. Just know that you attaching parts to something isn't going to influence habitual speech patterns of those that don't want to be influenced. Drive your Jeep, and if they want him to have it so...

    Stock suspension replacement

I found the order. The parts I got from Moog were 3226 and 3227 respectively. Like I said, not sure there was any difference, but they installed easily and ride fine. Oh, Welcome, BTW!

    Stock suspension replacement

I lowered my Jeep down from a Rancho 3.5 down to stock height using Moog springs from rockauto. Funny enough, Moog had two separate designating part numbers for each part. I went with the "Rubicon" labled part numbers. For no reason other than the thought that they might be built just a bit...

    Exterior door latches

Thanks everyone for the information! The old ones are solid, and not at risk of breaking that I can tell. They're just worn looking. I'm doing some paint work on the Jeep at the end of April. I've got to paint the windshield frame, door and hood hinges, grill, tire carrier and one fender. For...

    Exterior door latches

Hi all, I'm looking to replace/refinish my door latches. I don't mind painting them, but wondered if anyone has gone the replacement route. I looked some up on Amazon, and the reviews are kinda sketchy. What are y'alls experiences? If you've had good experiences, what brand did you use?

You can have it, brother. I'm ready for spring to get here myself. There's a gentleman here on the forum that's only down the street from me that said he'd show me some of the local trails he knows of when the snow melts!
