Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. 99 4.0 -5spd with 192,000. Worst I've gotten is 14.3 and the best is 16.5. I check most every fill up. I probably average about 15.5 or so. 33" tires, 4" lift and gearing is unknown (guessing 3.07) but way too high!

In 1989 a buddy and I went in together and bought a 1978 CJ5 with a 304 and 3spd. Then in 1991 I bought a 1980 CJ7 with a 6 cyl and 4 SPD. I owned that one for the next 24 years, eventually doing a frame up resto and putting a built 360 in it. That thing was a beast! But.... At 8mpg it got old...

Took the top off my TJ for the first time today and got a little sun. May try to fit a strapless soft top on it tomorrow.
