Using LEDs in the front fender side-markers on a Jeep Wrangler TJ

Yeah, im surprised 10ohm works. Even 25ohm wouldn’t work. At 10ohm, I get about 40%-50% of a drop in brightness, matching the front blinkers perfectly. My calculations to find the appropriate ohm, with a 50% drop, and 2watts LED (you are correct that they are two watts) off of my 12volts car...

Using LEDs in the front fender side-markers on a Jeep Wrangler TJ

Hi! Thanks a lot for this. Although I fixed the issue, this info will be very helpful in the future. The blue and red spade connectors were being connected to the wires you’re mentioning, and I already had it grounded, just didn’t show it in the image. The issue was with the resistor. My LED...

Using LEDs in the front fender side-markers on a Jeep Wrangler TJ

Here are images of my setup. It’s rudimentary but I’ll secure everything one I know it works. Also, I've isolated the issue with the wire where the resistor is, even to the resistor itself. When I remove the resistor from the setup, power flows to the LED through that wire.

Using LEDs in the front fender side-markers on a Jeep Wrangler TJ

Thank you. Any chance you could explain how to wire in series and not parallel? I’m rarely new at this and am still learning. I followed the above diagram to the letter.

Using LEDs in the front fender side-markers on a Jeep Wrangler TJ

I used 360 ohm. I’ll take a picture tomorrow, it’s late here now. While waiting for a response I tested a theory. I’ve tapped the wires to the day time running light wire instead (fully separate wire from the other set) of the headlights (nighttime lights), and something seems to happen (there...

Using LEDs in the front fender side-markers on a Jeep Wrangler TJ

Thanks again, that info was correct and I ended up moving forward with your diagram. The issue with certain blinkers not working was fixed, but I've encountered another problem I hope you could help me with as you seem much more knowledgeable. Let me try to be as understandable as possible: I...

Using LEDs in the front fender side-markers on a Jeep Wrangler TJ

My situation sounds a lot like this one, with only one small difference. I’ve got LED’s all around and all the blinkers (front, side markers, and back) work when the nighttime lights are off. But when I turn the lights on, the front blinkers and side markers stop working, meaning that they stay...

Blinker issue/not working when lights are on

Hi! So, I just installed a new LED tail light on the right side (the left tail light is not installed and there are only exposed wires). Everything works fine, but as soon as I turn on the lights on my 1998 Jeep TJ, the tail light keeps working but the blinkers don't work anymore on the right...

Left tail light doesn't work (license plate side) - HELP!

I have a 1998 TJ that I bought used from another guy. He had a whole set up for an amp and a subwoofer, and I ended up getting rid of the subwoofer, therefor I had to get rid of a lot of different cables that we're not used. Ever since I did this, for some reason, the left tail light does not...
