Any chance you know which cylinder is misfiring ? If you did you could swap that fuel injector with one from a working cylinder. Compression test isn’t a bad idea either.

FWIW I swapped my 4cyl 1990 mustang to LS and the Holley terminator ECU was real easy to deal with. Comes with harness and all for engine and trans as long as you stay with GM trans which Novak recommends. I’m sure manual GM trans conversions will be a PIA.
