Check to see if the flange on the new housing has the same thickness as the flange on the housing you removed. The bottom bolt could bottom out in the head before seating the flange if the new housing flange is thinner.

Are you sure the rear differential is a Dana 44?

Seem strange to me to have a RMS leak with no oil residue on your oil pan with oil leaking from the transmission housing. I would think oil would leak onto the oil pan also if RMS was leaking. Suggest double checking the valve cover gasket in the rear of the engine for a leak.

Could be totally misguided by the video but it sounds like the engine crank over then the starter bendix disengages from the flywheel. Are you sure the engine is continuing to turn over throughout the cranking process?

Really don’t think you will see anything by dropping the oil pan to solve you oiling issue based on you stating you have good oil pressure. I would suspect a problem with the lifters or plugged pushrods.

Did you request specifically what you wanted done to your Jeep or did you ask the the shop to perform diagnostics and repair? If the shop performed tasks you specified I can understand a large shop bill even if they didn’t rectify the problem but if not I would think a very small fee for...

Could it be you have 12.5" tires mounted on 8" wheels and the current tire pressure is causing a mound in the tire center? You may want to consider lowering your tire pressure are running 10.5" tires on 8" wheels to eliminate the issue.

I suggest you check your cylinder head far a crack. Had the same issues a while back and that’s what it turned out to be.

You would want to make sure you have a good fluid level in your transfer case and transmission if plan to drive it. You would also probably want to make only short trips and check the level regularly which would be a pain.

I’ve removed head with manifold attached on a 4.0 without an issue. Reinstalled head with manifold removed. Didn’t want to chance damaging the head gasket when attempting to install the bulky unbalanced assembly.

Which Lunati cam are you running?

Suggest going with 4.56 gears. Don’t think you will be happy with 4.10 gears with your 5 speed manual transmission.
